    Euro 2008 Empty Euro 2008

Post by Fey Fri Mar 16, 2007 7:58 pm

Yes, I know its still a year away and that everything can happen in the qualification. But still its only a year away! So who do you think will win it this time. The Tourny is held in small Germany this time, so the organisation will be class again.

    Favourites imo:

Germany: Well lets face it, they just play at home again! But havent won a single game in the EC this millenium Laughing

Holland: Are used to play on such great heights. And with the talent we have we should make the final! Shame about the manager though.

Portugal: The main contender for the title, the have alot of class. Much more then their so called "Golden Generation"

France: Is there life after Zizou???....no

Italy: Excellent squad again, but I think they will not win it. The will to win is a bit less, I mean they are WC...the EC will be nothing then a nice desert for them.

Or will there be another Greece again???? Let's hope not!

    impossibe to say

look how utterly shite germany were pre world cup

many first teams are at similar levels of ability.

it's just who develops and manages these first 11's correctly and at the right time who will prosper

oh and whoever flukes the penalty shootouts as well

I really hope for just one more Holland-Germany, just for all the oldies that are on death row! We win 2-1 with a fluke by RvP! God that would be great.

Well I think England will qualify, I mean why wouldnt they scratch Strongest team in that poule by far! Still QF will be the end again, as usual. Same as Spain. We will go out in the semi's most likely on penalties! Very Happy

You have to, it's a must. Hell, we let you nationalise a few of our youngsters if necessary, a major competition needs both Holland and England, it's much less fun without you guys for us.

    Portugal needs to qualify first...

If we get there, I think it could be the best squad we've had together for a very long time. I wasn't around for the Eusebio squad, so I can't really say how good they were, but this promisses to be a very talented squad.

I will be VERY disappointed if England doesn’t go to Euro 2008, I don’t care if they play crap football, or that their players usually choke in Internationals tournaments, or that the English media is by far the most annoying.

In big tournaments I want to see the big national teams. I want the classics, the big matches. I remember in 2002, I was praying to God for Germany to qualify, because to me a WC without Germany is a crime.

This Euro I want to see Portugal and England (of course Big Phil will kick England ass AGAIN)
I would love to see Germany win something after such bad period, Holland play amazing football.
I have big expectations for this tournament.

Germany will be playing on home soil .. so they will be hard to beat they must be the favourites ... , but i believe it will be a open tournament

Italy, England, Spain, Portugal (if they qualify), Holland, Germany ... one of these 6 .. then you get your 'dark horses'..

Holland have potentially a great side with RVP, Robben, VDV, Huntelaar, Sneijder, Aissaiti (if he chooses Holland) and Babel. However the usual in fighting/arrogance/jealousy will be there demise. They will play beautiful football (if MVB gets sacked) and lose gloriously as ever.

Portugal will have the second best team with Ronaldo, Quaresma, Deco, Nani, Mountinho etc.

But apart from these two teams I cant see any other outstanding teams come Euro 2008. Italy havent done that well in European championships (although they should have won it in 2000, but after parking the bus in the semis for 120 mins, I was glad they didnt), Germany havent beaten a decent European team in ages, France arent the same without Zidane and co, England will lose on penalties and Spain will flatter to decieve as always.

But cheers juligen, hope that die Mannschaft will show its full potential and play a great EC again. It's about time, the EC is our tournament. Very Happy Ale

Last chance to get rid of van Basten is this summer ..

I don't think their is the 'in fighting' any more, people will say that Sneijder will be involved.

Didnt beat a good European side in Euro 2000, WC 2002, Euro 2004 and WC 2006 (3rd place friendly doesnt count). So I think I do know what I am talking about.
