The FA are pitiful. Incompetent. Full of money grabbing business men who think they know what's best for English football. In appointing McClaren, they made a massive mistake.

What has he ever achieved as a manager? He got an erratically formed Middlesbrough team into the final of a major competition. Anything else? Not much. He may have won a league cup, I can't remember.

Now, he has the world at his feet, an array of quality footballers to call upon. Footballers who would find a place in many of the worlds top clubs. With these footballers, he's failed to win for five games in a row. The man makes decisions based on what the media are telling him to do. He dropped Beckham because it's what the media wanted, but now he finds himself lost as the media want Beckham back.

Having only just appointed him, will the FA dare to take the bold and expensive decision of sacking him?

The FA wanted McLaren. They wanted a puppy dog who would do what they told them. Sadly, the puppy dogs aren't normally the best managers.

'xactly, they wanted some who would not rock the boat politically (football politics).

Dude, there is no playoff... both the winner and the runners up from each group qualify directly!!!

To answer yr question, I think the FA will wait unless it is almost certain that England won't qualify... but i think England will qualify, so Steve will be there till the end of Euro2008.

    If we sack him.....

    What then?

There doesn't seem to be many suitable English managers out tehre. Foreign coaches have seen the way Sven was treated and don't want to go through that. Its a poison chalice.

Got Bolton 5th in the league...has them playing some decent football.

I dont think he'd stand for the shite we put out in international games either...might actually have the balls to drop Lampard or Gerrard.

    He will

1)Pick players that he wants (In form players..not just on names).
2)He won't put up with shit...he'll drum a bit of determination into the team.

I'm not sure if he'd be my choice..but ahead of McClaren for sure...

Fair enough, his man management is probably International standard.

I am just unsure about his tactical awareness for the continental game, he has little experience. Apart from the UEFA Cup last year when they played Dynamo Plovdiv.

The next manager will most likely be foreign. Thats if we can actually find one.

England are flat, predictable, uninspiring and a lot of that will come from the manager.
I think McClaren is well out of his depth.
With the quality of players they have, they should be walking that group.

They are currently being overshadowed by two of their smaller neighbours!!
