La Liga has always been reknown leauge for goals, flair, skills, tricks etc..

And this week it lived up to the bill, an amazing 35 goals in one week!!!

Along with some great goals and matches, including three thrillers!

    Racing V Atletic 5-4

    Valencia V Espanyol 3-2

    Betis V Villarreal 3-3

There seems to be a general consensus amongst nearly all the teams in Liga and that is to play attacking football and give the crowd their money's worth ok

West Ham and T*ttenham are two teams known for good attacking football. Look what happened when we played each other...

Yes, credit where it due, under Pards (havent watched much under AC), they were always an attacking team, even when newly promoted, although there are few teams in the EPL that really want to play attacking football, there are various teams that are more negative/ or more defensively minded won't name names.

Majority of the teams in spain play attacking football bar Capello of course Wink

La Liga has been the most defensive while Serie A the more attacking.

    Misread.

Will have to check the stats on that...

But then again attacking football cannot be measured by goals scored pr conceded Razz

Yeh as Deano said - there has been to many boring weeks in La Liga this season - but this goes some way to making up for it. I think the record was also set for the least ever goals in a La Liga weekend this season?

The game in Santander this weekend was absolutely stunning. What a play Zigic is. He has the potential to be a class European player. In the Jan Koller mould.

The game in Sevilla was also a cracker. Two sides that go out and attack - and were looking like the sides that qualified for last seasons Champions League again. The defeding for the Pires goal in particular though was shocking.

Untrue story, of course, but that's what most people seem to think unfortunately. So you hit the nail on the head with that chrissi.

Look at the top 5 Bundesliga teams, for example: 3 of them very attacking (Werder Bremen, VfB Stuttgart, Bayer 04 Leverkusen), and the other two (Schalke 04 and Bayern München) less attacking, but definitely not defensive either. Especially Bayern seem to have a way more positive philosophy under Hitzfeld, almost adventurous (especially at the Allianz Arena). And Schalke, being the most 'defensive' side in the top 5, prefers a 4-3-3 system with two real wingers. Not exactly negative either.

Well, even bottom of the table sides like Bochum play attacking football in the Bundesliga, so what's your point? I just mentioned the top 5 to emphasise the fact that teams get rewarded for their positive philosophy.

Nobody claimed that though. La Liga is the better league, especially at the top. Your elite clubs are better than ours these days, that's a fact (which we can hopefully change again in future) Wink.

But the most attacking league? The Dutch Eredivisie probably is the overall most attacking. The Bundesliga and La Liga have a similar number of attacking teams me thinks.

I think the premiership is the most attacking league. Just look right at the kick off and you have players from both teams running crazily after the ball. The tempo is also higher than other leagues, even though the Spanish, the Dutch and the German leagues also have lots of goals. The Serie A has improved a lot this year but the tempo is not as high as others. The French league is terrible, usually on a very slow and boring tempo, with the away team usually defending as much as it can.
I think you can also describe attacking depending on the tempo and type of formation utilized (such as 4-3-3).

Well here we go. I've done a bit of research and I think the complete opposite of Jornada 28 was Jornada 19.....

    9 goals for this weekend....

    Atlético 1-0 Osasuna
    Villarreal 0-0 Sevilla
    Zaragoza 0-0 Recreativo
    Deportivo 0-0 Espanyol
    Barcelona 3-0 Nástic
    R. Sociedad 0-1 Valencia
    Levante 0-0 Athletic
    Mallorca 0-1 Real Madrid
    Getafe 1-0 Celta
    Betis 1-1 Racing

So there is the contrast, I mean I don't really like putting certain leagues in a box but similarly to Kas it is enjoyable to watch the highlights from Germany as there is some great attacking play on display. But there's something special about La Liga that made me watch it regularly in the first place and there is no doubt that vertically every team has exciting attacking players. I think it is hard to put La Liga and the Bundesliga in a box and say which one is more attacking.
