Under Houllier Owen won the eurpean palyer of the year award in 2001.Under Wenger Henry won nothing individualy

In fairness to Owen he developed hugely as a player from 1998-2001. At 18 he was one-footed, a poor header of the ball, and basically his entire game consisted of running onto a ball over the top and shooting.

He developed his left foot, his heading ability, and his positional skill.

As an all round player he's continued to improve even in the last 3 years.

However, his main weapon, that blistering pace, has gone; and he's never developed enough physical strength to compensate. He's also injury-prone.

i think someone like Wenger would have improved his all round game.

Owen won the European Footballer of the Year because Liverpool won the mini Treble.

IMO, Ronaldo and Figo were World Class players. Owen was just a Quick striker, now that he has lost his pace he is not as good.

Yep it was trully awesome, up there with his goal against Newcastle.

He hasnt scored a thunderbolt like that in ages, when he first came on the scene he was scoring those kind of goals every other week

He has 12 prem goals this season, thats alot more than most strikers, he also has alot of assists. He has contributed alot to the team, this season Ronaldo/Scholes are uniteds best players, last season Rooney was, but we didnt win the league because we didnt have Scholes and Keane for 2/3rds of the season.

We play better with Rooney than without him, he isnt a goal hanging forward, who if he doesnt score offers nothing. He is having a dissapointing season but is still doing better than say Podolski/Ribery. NHext season he will be back to his usual self, but at the moment were winning games by 3/4 goals so his form is fine with me.
