it was stunning the whole way through. after the third goal the camera was evening rocking for about a minutekas wrote:At the risk of getting attacked by Luis again:
For all the orgasmic talk about how great the "Anfield atmosphere" etc. etc. is, the San Siro has been equally, if not more, magnificent tonight. Yet it won't get half the press coverage that Liverpool do for it. Not that an issue like "crowd support" deserves the amount of hype that it does anyway.

What was that for Chinston? As long as it wasn't Chelsea in the final it'll be fine

It was more about Seedorf tonight though, mate
Dida - Reina
Nesta - Carragher
Gattuso - Mascherano
Pirlo - Alonso
Kaka' - Gerrard
Gilardino - Kuyt.
Very close to call
Both superb at penalties. If Dida continues his in-game performance like he played today, then both are equal.
Dida - Reina
Committed defenders.
Nesta - Carragher
Excellent specialist midfield destroyers.
Gattuso - Mascherano
Deep lying playmakers who can pass anywhere, and take good setpieces.
Pirlo - Alonso
Inspirational attacking midfielders who like going forward.
Kaka' - Gerrard
Non-scoring strikers.
Gilardino - Kuyt.

So I agree with TS that it's too close to call. But this time I give Milan the mental edge over Liverpool.

Ok, a pat on the back is fair enough. But instead of only criticising, care to suggest an alternative?

Hey man...what do you think of this tie? Do you fancy Milan's chances?
Depends on how Gilardino/Inzaghi (who ever is likely to play upfront) does in the next few weeks. But yeah, I think you can beat them. I certainly do not get why everyone's jumping on this "United have too much pace they'll blow Milan away" arguement. They've got no more pace than they had two years ago (unless Saha returns).
I still think the key to the game is that Milan have a top class destroyer in Gattuso (and a couple of decent ones in Ambrosini and Brocchi) whereas United don't have a single destroyer fullstop. Maybe Darren Fletcher, it's still not 'his game' as such. Though he's done a job there.
My opinion on the match is simply that I feel Gattuso can give Ronaldo a far tougher time in a personal battle than O'Shea/Smith/Fletcher can Kaká.

Exactly. Vidic has been great in the league - but I've just been waiting for him to get his.
The same bull$h*t that makes people claim that Terry & Carragher are better than Rio - until every Intl tourney rolls around.
