Is Mourinho bigger than Chelsea?

Just wanted to know your opinions about Mourinho's newest comments about not being sure of his future. If it had been Rijkaard coming with these statements the fans would have been calling for his blood by now and he would probably end up fired.

Are Chelsea fans/management in the pocket of Mourinho? Are they willing to take anykind of manipulation just to have him continue? I think it is very strange that he can continue saying these things to the press and nobody from the club reacts..


In the end Chelsea fans should be supporting Abramovich and not Mourinho, since it is Russian that has made Chelsea..

Chelsea have clearly been conducting a whispering campaign with the press to undermine Mourinho since the autumn. There have been a number of well-publicised fallings-out, particularly (allegedly) over Shevchenko.

If Chelsea have not commented, surely this indicates that Mourinho's comment is true - they haven't given him any indication if his job is secure. Is that any way to run a football club?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not Mourinho's biggest fan, but I think the club are behaving in a pretty unpleasant way.

From my perspective it seems more like a power struggle between Mourinho and Chelsea mgt/Abramovich. I cannot for the life of me, understand how Mourinho could be unhappy at Chelsea.. A massive budget, adoring fans, no pressure..

He will never have it as easy if he goes to RM/AC Milan/Juve etc. I really don't understand what he has to complain about. Rumours are a fact of life at this level, he can just ask Ronaldinho about that..

how is he under no pressure? surely he is under immense pressure to win the CL this season

I don't really think it compares to being in charge of one of the "traditional" big clubs, since Chelsea fans should still recognise that they are very lucky to be in the position they are today..

Correct me if I am wrong, he wasn't close to getting fired the last two years when Chelsea got knocked out, right?

Think of Capello, the press /fans has been trying to get him fired since after about 2 months in charge for RM..

And how is it a power struggle? There is no struggle, Abramovich can just sack him, simple as that - just as he did with Ranieri.

Just to spin the story with the press. While they can do what they like it's obviously in Abramovich's interest to keep the fans on-side as much as possible - he doesn't want to be booed at his own club, does he?

Chelsea fans would be thick as **** to boo Abramovich.

Well they were pretty supportive of Ranieri when the rumours were flying around before his sacking.

Surely they realise that they are playing with fire if they start booing sugar daddy, and that if he leaves, or just decides to let the club stand on it's own two feet, only Geremi and Makelele will be left in the squad..

He won't leave, he'll just pay 40,000 people to turn up and cheer.

Mourinho has said 1,000 times that he wants to stay. He's even reserved places for his kids to stay at their school next year. However, he's said that no one in the Chelsea board has confirmed he will be no.1.

If anything, it's the board who are screwing Mourinho, rather than the other way.

but thats a common pressure you will get in a top club. he has been a bit spoiled with all the signings he has got to make. and im not sure but doesnt like the style in which he has played also affected that abramovic want him gone. the rumors says that his agent has has told madrid that he is ready to join.
