Every season just like Morecambe in the Conference, they prob wont get up either. I won tickets to their play-off game a few years ago but couldnt go cos it clashed with a city game.

    Come on the Shrimps.

    2005/2006

Ipswich had four in a row back in the late 90's/early 00's. So Preston are this season and next season off that! They are hardly an fashionable club these days so do well to maintain the amount of consistency they do. The problem is usually the fact that they are there all season with consistent form whereas there are other clubs which are in form and have made a late charge. Could well happen again in the case of a Stoke or a Southampton. I would fancy both to beat Preston right now.

Preston really aren't a great team, no matter what their fans might tell you, there game does revolve around hoping Nugent can come up with something, otherwise they're a very ordinary team.

I haven't seen enough of Birmingham this season, although i'm not sure they'll make the play-offs ahead of Derby, their fixture list is harder and they're still a few points behind them.

Yeah Stoke are really on form at the moment and have a good side.

    Cardiff (A)
    Hull (H)
    Colchester (H)
    QPR (A)

They have a good chance of making the play-offs might even have a chance of promotion if they carry their good form into it.

The U's are also in good form although I think its wishful thinking for us to make the play offs. Stranger things have happened though.

Stoke have made great use of loan signings so far this season. The likes of Hendrie, Diao, Berger and Griffin have made a big difference to their season. They're a tough team to beat, and are in good form so they have a chance of promotion.

I agree, i'm hoping that they'll lose/draw with Cardiff and Colchester. As for the other matches, all i can do is hope that they slip up. They are definately a massive threat though to our promotion challenge and probably one of the only teams with a very realistic chance of winning all their last matches.

    WBA 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday FT

Deon Burton scored the only goal of the game to see off West Brom. WBA wasted a number of chances to score in the game but fell to pieces at the end.

Neil Clement was sent off for WBA for a poor challenge and headbutt in injury time. Then seconds later Carter got a second booking for a crude and intentional foul.

West Brom are still 4th, but have played a game more than the teams below them and could be out of the playoff places by the end of the weekend. Wednesday move up to 10th.

Stoke and Wednesday have both been in good form so it isn't that surprising that they've dropped points against them, and they shouldn't have lost today in all honesty.

They've got Burnley, Barnsley and Coventry in their last three games so they should pick up points in those games, although you never know in the Championship.

West Brom have relied on their home form to see them up, so if they cant even draw with Sheff Wednesday they dont have a prayer. I still don't think they'll muck things up so spectacularly as to miss out on a play-off place though.

I dont think theyl win the playoffs though, and being a relegated team, i hope they dont

Sheff Wednesday have won 5 and drawn 1 of their past 6 games now and if they win their last three finish with 74 points, how much of an achievement would that be if they went up

    Preston winning

    Wolves winning

Saints drawing, as it is we'll end up 3 points off the playoffs with 3 games to go, could be very touch and go but to be honest i'd probably take that.

    The table....

    1 Sunderland 43 82
    2 Derby 43 78
    3 Birmingham 42 77
    4 Preston 43 71
    5 West Brom 43 70
    6 Wolverhampton 43 70
    7 Stoke 43 68
    8 Southampton 43 66
    9 Colchester 43 66
    10 Sheff Wed 43 65
    11 Cardiff 43 64
    12 Crystal Palace 43 59
    13 Plymouth 43 58
    14 Ipswich 43 57
    15 Norwich 42 56
    16 Coventry 43 53
    17 Burnley 42 51
    18 QPR 43 49
    19 Leicester 42 47
    20 Barnsley 43 47
    21 Hull 43 45
    22 Leeds 43 45
    23 Southend 43 42
    24 Luton 43 37

Looks sorted up at the top for the Balck Cats. Will be very interesting battle between Derby and Brum though. A chance of the play offs still for Stoke, Southampton, Colchester and even Sheffield Wednesday if a miracle takes place. And I have just realised that its now mathematically impossible for us.
