Seriously Rai, its getting quite boring. Its hardly particularly inventive and you're just repeating the same repetetive idea.
IMO, i'd like to have more English players but only really if they come through our own youth team, if we are going to spend money on players, we should go for the best thats available, regardless of nationality. How many English players from your academy do you have in your first team? This season its been one and hes been your weak link.
Danny Simpson has been good, played well in Rome and when he got his opportunity, his attacking instinct looks good could have had 2 against Newcastle. No offence but how many teams for example left in the Champions League play with a 'foreign XI', I know success is what matters but your a English Club, your 1998 double winning team >> The Invincibles.
I was referring to Wes Brown.
Whaaa. He's been okay. Watch Rooney's goal against Sunderland.

I bet he's girlfriend (Melanie, is it ?) follows in Collen's steps, and then proceeds to have a more successful career.

Not 1st choice but he has had his moments. Link up with CR7 at times been good.

Do you think we would have waited a bit longer to sign him if Chelsea and Liverpool didn't show their strong interest in him. Getting more games in the Championship would have been more beneficial to him than reserve games.
As for the English debate Rhys Murphy, Henri Lansbury and Mark Randall will all be 18 next year. I believe they will be intergrated into the Carling Cup team as Diaby and Denilson will get more first team roles soon.

I find it hard to disagree with Ade. It's going to be strange trying to support the chavs in the final, I'll just have to tell myself I'm supporting Ballack. After two hours wasted watching that $h!t on a stick last night, most neutrals will I think be supporting the spuds...

People might sniff that its only the CC cup, but
a) Chelsea wanted to win this badly
b) We're in the UEFA cup now, irrespective of the league

It was a great final as well
Much much better than the snore fest the FA cup final will no doubt be
It's a great springboard for spurs and will give the players and ramos much more belief. One of the key things out of it will be attracting better players and keeping berbatov

Re: The let's laugh at Tottenham thread.
Good trophy to win - sure, it's 4th on the list for the biggest clubs, but for Spurs it's right in their ballpark. And beating the 2nd best side in the league should give them a boost psychologically, both in the short term towards the end of the season but also long term because they've got a youngish squad.
And sure, it means European football again next year, which is important if the club needs a revenue boost to aid Ramos sorting out the squad in the summer.
