Players who will make it as Managers

Watching Southgate on MOTD (someone I thought you could tell would make a manager) which players nearing the end of there careers can you see making it as a manager?

Maldini (could be a good shout) like his father before him could make a good coach..but will be down to his personal choice, not sure if he wants to follow in that path..

Lee Clark, he's been put incharge of our reserves this season. He's rated highly by Roeder.

You can't have many better teachers either - Clough and Ferguson. He may have to stamp out his temper but he'll get instant respect.

That's what I'm worried about -- he might be the next Souness.

What about Philip Cocu?

Not sure if he has taken his badges or wants to follow the coaching path -- but if he follows his playing philosophy and as a great leader...he could possibly make it..

Cocu was one I thought of as well.

Highly respected and plays with great intelligence.

He and van der Sar were born in the same date and year...

Despite keepers having a bad reputation as managers I think Van Der Sar could do well as a coach at least.

Neville? Fergie thinks he has what it takes.

SAF can see Neville and Ole being good coaches (and Keane) at the highest level.

If van der Sar would love to get into coaching, well he could use his Ajax connections..(like a certain Dutch manager..)

van der saar would be a great keeper coAch

Though he is not nearing the end of his career I see Pirlo being a good coach.

Gravesen for a Championship side or Bolton/Blackburn

Redondo could be a class manager.

Do you know when Fergie actually said this at all?

I haven't got the link but he said it at the end of last season about Ole, Neville and Keane.

Cocu&Maldini The Great

Tofting and Frandsen would make great managers.

Apparently Henry is the most knowledgeable man in football. He's called mr "France Football" by his teammates. He'd make a good scout.

Get him Gravesen as assistant coach then. Not a single player would dare to slag off.

Paulo Bento. Former Portuguese international.

He was a no nonsense holding mid, and he hasn't lost that quality as a coach. The players respect him which is very important and the tactical knowledge he's shown in his short carrer at Sporting so far has been amazing.

Everyone, not just Sporting fans, are expecting a bright future for Paulo.

Maybe Dennis in a couple of years time...
