Huge weekend in Spain, Barca ideally need a draw from, Real's game and a convincing win against Sociedad which shouldn't prove too hard, It really is too close to call with 18 points still to play for!

    discuss!

I don't think the game against La Real will be a walkover, we always seem to struggle up north. I expect to Madrid to just beat Sevilla since they are bound to be tired and Alves isn't really performing too well at the moment.

Yeah I think Madrid will beat Sevilla and we will have a tough time against Real Sociedad.

Zaragoza-Santander will be another good game, and I have a feeling the weekend's shock will come at the Mestalla. Not a defeat for Valencia, but maybe a draw.

I'm thinking that La Real will get a win with the form they are in. Looking good....or at least up until the defeat in the las jornada. I am desperately hoping for a Sevilla win to then put them top. I'd be happy with a draw though I have to say. Hopefully will be a walk in the park for Valencia against awful Depor. How small will the crowd at the Riazor get this week? Getting under 10,000 recently.

Ahh, I obviously meant Riazor instead of Mestalla Doh

Hopefully we don't screw up that bad that we lose the match. Edmilson back in will make a big difference.

Sevilla will struggle after the UEFA Cup game today, and Madrid have some momentum. Even the Federation is backing Madrid now, with Beckham's card being revoked.

(relax Madrid fans, I'm just kidding, I don't even know what the card is for because I didn't watch the Athletic game).

It was for time wasting! But Real Madrid presented video evidence showing that Beckham wasted more time before taking the free kick leading to our first goal and was not booked compared to the free kick later in the game when he was booked. Very convincing stuff!

    Doh Doh Doh Doh Doh

Refs have given countless yellow cards for cumulative and consistent time wasting, even if the incident for which the yellow is actually given is not as bad as earlier ones.

If that's the explanation, then I take back the "kidding" part of my statement and restate it with full conviction. Don't you Madrid fans dare moan about refereeing or bias from the FA again. Sniff of the title for you and it's back to the same old tricks in Spain.

When was the last time Barcelona had two penalties given against them?

We dominate matches so comprehensively that for an opponent to enter our penalty box once in a match is a big deal, let alone two. But I'm sure we'll soon see the LFP instruct refs to start giving penalties against us for inexistent fouls outside the box Razz

the thing about sevilla is they'll probably make about 6 changes to the side that played today but the quality of the side will still remain more or less the same: they can bring in Navas, david, maresca, kerzakhov an Adriano( if he's fit) and rest of the players that started today and i'd expect them to trouble madrid.

we aren't really the champions of this season, Luis. Anything can still happen and if we don't win tomorrow, Sunday night Real Madrid may be top of the table.

tbh, I don't understand how a Liverpool fan can also be a Madrid fan. They are in many ways opposing clubs in philosophy, background and history, playing styles, etc. Real Madrid are the Manchester United of Spain. Liverpool is more Atlético Madrid or Valencia.

Perhaps the game is the equivalent to Chelsea's trip to West Ham last month - although it doesn't =have the added spice of inter city rivalry. I expected West Ham to win that day.

sometimes i might just be something about the club. for example liverpool is the team that i root for in england. not so fond of them in europe but for reason or another i like them even though they are not really a team that you would figure i would like.
