I think Sven would be able to attract better quality players to Newcastle than Big Sam.

Instant threat to the big four if Sven goes to Newcastle. If Sven made England a quarterfinal team even though they only have second round talent overall, imagine what he could do with Newcastle and some cash.

Moving up from #13 to #5 or even from #17 to #5 in the EPL is a lot easier than doing so in La Liga or Serie A. Sven would have a clear path to #5 IMMEDIATELY, and with some good fortune could actually endanger a spot of one of the big four for CL football. I see Sven doing it at Newcastle.

I can't argue with you there Brian, but Sven will take them Geordies to the promised land any way he can. I am convinced of that. If Sven's available, I'd sign him right away. We are told he wants to coach Newcastle. The man can coach.

Allardyce is probably a done deal anyway, so all this is pointless.

The road to #5 in the EPL is like a 4 lane Interstate with no speed limit. It's there for whoever wants it the most. Now cracking the top 4 is a very different story.

Either one, both would be great appointments. Sven is a proven winner, but Allardyce is a modern coach with modern techniques, he'll change everything from the coaching of the players to the scouting.

Thta's what I've heard. Basically, if he signs elsewhere before a certain period of time we get compensation.

NEWCASTLE are a much bigger club, with a massive stadium and have more money. He has more chance of getting further with Newcastle than Bolton. He just needs to break the voodoo injury curse and break the trend of buying expensive, but terrible defenders.

Excellent move then : going to Newcastle
This way it's impossible to buy Bramble

the only way newcastle will become a big club is if they get rid of fat freddy and his crew and find a decent managerial team for the club in general.
