Inter Milan And Manchester United To Face Off In August

Premiership champions Manchester United will face Serie A champions Inter Milan in a pre-season friendly in August.

The friendly will take place on Wednesday 1 August at Old Trafford, following the Red Devils' return from their pre-season tour of the far east. Manchester United have confirmed the fixture after Inter decided to accept their invitation for a clash between in the reigning English and Italian champions.

Manchester United beat Chelsea by six points, while Inter are currenly a mammoth 21 points clear of Roma with just two games left to go. The last time the two teams met in a competitive game was during United's historic 1998-99 season. The two sides faced each other in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, the Red Devils winning 2-0 at Old Trafford before holding the Nerazzurri to a 1-1 draw at the San Siro, en route to winning the trophy against Bayern Munich at the Camp Nou.

Ibra? Sorry I don't know who that is. Is he a poor man's Van Basten?

Honestly though, Ibra is a very good player, and this season he has started to actually pass the ball.

But C. Ronaldo for me.

Should be a good game, if I am not on holiday I will try and go. Hopefully both teams dont play there reserves/youth team.

Like I said, its too close to the season for Inter notto play their main team... at that stage, clubs are looking for some real practise games so as to hit the league in good form... so I expect more of our regulars to travel...

They will be sluggish tho... it won't be as good as a competitive game during the season.

Zlatan vs Ronaldo will be brilliant, coz in games like these they can be selfish and do a few tricks for the crowd!

And I will not get drawn into a discussion on who is better...

Great teams, but friendlies are never something special/interesting.
