Pearce never got the best out of Beasly, Samaras and Trabelsi in particular. All good players and underrated in England.
    Beasley is quite good really.

All of the above are UEFA cup material players.

Trabelsi got released on a free btw ok

Ireland to Spurs ? He isnt for sale and has just signed a new 3yr deal. Ireland has a big future at City with Richards, Onuoha, Sturridge, Johnson and the Academy boys that are sure to come through.

No that was in answer to Tweeds, 'no one other than Issaksson and Richards make the Spurs side'.

You name 5 players plus i think Mpenza is UEFA standard and seen as we are going ot have £50m to spend that could be spent on 5 £10m players which mean we have a very good team.

Perhaps... (even though I'd say Beasley and Trabelsi could get into the Spurs team) you may have a point there. But with the exception of the strikers, Spurs are only marginally better in many of the positions.

However, its about who can forge the best team, a freeflowing unit.
Spurs are are notoriously eratic; you never know which spurs comes to play: the great, entertaining one or the one resembling a blundering sunday league team. As a whole, they're not consistent enough.

If Citeh can become a consistent unit (compared to Spurs) they might get the advantage over Spurs.

But like has been said before, it probably won't happen overnight (i.e., next season) but the potential is there.

You'll be playing the same game that a lot of other clubs are playing : there's cash poring into the EPL from all sides.

You'll still have to compete with 8 teams for a spot in the first 5...

I'd say marginally is an understatement. Chimbonda is also a fantastic right back and personally I'd have him over Trabelsi (although I do think he's very good)

I appreciate the style that Jol is aiming for - they've still managed 5th two seasons in a row in spite of their eratic form

No way is there any club that's gonna hire him as manager, he's utterly clueless ! Yikes

Good strategy by the board though : slipping Gullit a few k to throw his name in....and the fans will support the board no matter what choice they make, as long as it isn't Gullit Laugh
