Congrats to Frankfurt's ladies! Smile They definitely had the better nerves during the penalty shoot-out... Game was pretty average, though, and wasn't helped by the rain. Duisburg's equaliser was class though--Sonja Fuss (how aptly named Very Happy ) netted a fine cross after stealing away behind the centre back's back.

So, Gerhard Delling is starting to babble, not long to go until KO... Any thoughts, predictions, well-wishing, whatever for the men's final--just leave them here. Wink

    Stuttgart - Nürnberg 1:1
    1:0 Cacau (20.)
    1:1 Mintal (27.)
    sent off: Cacau (31.)

Weiner was said to be Cr@p referee before the game. He did his best to confirm it.

So far it's a good match, not great, but good. Definitely worth watching.

Just popping in to say that Meira should have been sent off--and should have known better. Hitzlsperger was sent off for less during the season.

Shame that Mintal's out injured again, but I guess, better for us.

Cacau was rightfully sent off--he did punch Reinhardt or whoever it was...

It'll be difficult for us, that's for sure. More than an entire half with one man down? *snorts* But maybe we need the odds to be against us.

C'mon, you guys, and turn this game back into what it should have been: A game of football.

We played pretty defensively--mainly because we didn't have a real striker on the pitch. Veh didn't want to risk losing Gomez to injury as well, so he let him warm up properly and will probably bring him on at the start of the second half.

I'd say that was a very harsh decision, as it was not really much of a hit. Especially after it was a fair game so far and after he missed a clear penalty for Stuttgart and the foul on Cacau in the same sequence, he should have shown more Fingerspitzengefühl. As a rsult, he turned the match really ugly, as you could see with Meira's brutal foul, which indeed should have been a red card.

You know, that's the thing with Meira: He can be incredibly stable, sane, calming, a true rock in defense. Yet he has his moments of madness as well. And that's what people tend to forget.

I don't know whether the yellow card was a concession or not, but we can just count ourselves lucky the captain wasn't sent off as well.

Jetzt heißt es hoffen und beten.

There was a good shot by Boka, but Nürnberg (and the referee) soaked up every stuttgart attack and controlled the game easily.

    Spiranovic booked for diving, btw

It will be tough for Stuttgart playing another 30 minutes with ten men but it sounds like they have done very well to get back into the match from a goal and a man down.

Well, it will be tough for Stuttgart, though they were not made to work that much as it could have been. Nürnberg basically played a time-killing game with counter-attacks.
