He is expensive, and he will only leave Porto for one of the biggest clubs. The biggest clubs however, with the exception of Madrid and Liverpool maybe, don't seem to need wing players, at least not that much that they are willing to pay the price.

Besides, his rather difficult character probably puts a lot of clubs off, the Barcelona incident is just proof for that.

Surely it is one of footballs mysteries why he hasn't been poached. Does the shadow of Barcelona put people off?

he has only recently turned into a star and is happy at porto who do not really want to sell him

    plus the price is high

Considering what we paid for Anderson and what you paid for Torres, you'd be looking at £20 million plus.

    Very good player though.

it's reported to be 22 million euro but it might be slightly higher

can't see it reaching £20 million though

we should be able to comfortably afford him. rafa was saying that torres did not cost as much as was reported and lots of sites have reported it as 21 million. we will recoup most of that from bellamy and cisse so can push the boat out for quaresma if needs be. inter will provide pretty stiff competition if they want him though

Why would they sell Anderson for £17 - 20 million and Quaresma for £15 million.

Quaersma is much more the finished article.

They probably know you have money to burn as well.

Well, if Pennant gets a run out we can be sure that we'll be scoring a hell of a lot of goals in that match!

As long as he isn't involved in the attack that is.

Seriously though I think Pennant will get a game and hopefully Sissoko as well, I'm trying to remember what it was last year, Bellamy played and Anderson that's all I can remember

    Playing well
    Jack Hobbs
    Playing well
    Alvaro Arbeloa
    Playing ok
    Jermaine Pennant
    On fire
    Lee Peltier
    Good in possesion
    Momo Sissoko
    Playing poorly
    Adam Hammill
    Some moments of quality
    Jordy Brouwer
    Not much influence
    Besian Idrizaj
    Three goals!

I have to say, the defence is looking really good. Very comfortable and confident.

I suppose it's easier for him to run around against better players and try and win the ball, than actually try and pass around supposed weaker players.

Anyway his performance at Anfield this season though was one of the worst I've seen in the league this season.

Even Carragher was screaming at him to sort himself out.
