We only have 3 fit defenders. affraid This means we'll either see Huntington start in the middle or Alan O'Brien start at left back, or maybe Solano at right back. Erm Kieron Dyer will probably be rested aswell as Parker.

I think we'll start with this team.

Feyenoord's key De Guzman has recovered from injury, but since he isn't matchfit he'll start from the bench.

Ooijer and Neill are both not likely to start for Blackburn.

Could be anything this match. Both teams can be very physical, both can play footy. German ref, who loves his cards. Probably shite weather. Will start drinking asap to make sure I'm warm tonight.

Ahh, why I'd hate to play in the UEFA cup. You only get one day or two maximum to train for you're next league game.

Have you had many on Saturday, after playing on Thursday night?

on your ref for tonight, dick van egmond, well his name says it all. average at best, but at least normally he doesn't kill the game (by whistling too much). his stats: 3 yellows a match & 1 red in every 10 matches (not affraid to sent players off).

Very valid point you make. Playing UEFA Cup reduces your chances in your home nation's league, the Champions League matches being earlier in the week, makes it easier for CL playing clubs to retain their status. We had to play PSV this season after 2 1/2 day rest, they had 5 days to recover. So unfair.

I remember a few times when Feyenoord just missed out on CL qualification, due to a good UEFA Cup run. In 2002 we would have won the Dutch league hadn't we won the UEFA Cup.

Its happened to alot of clubs recently.

Coop and Kimbo can tell you themselves. Boro had a great league campaign in 2004/2005 and got into the UEFA cup then went all the way to the final but there league form the next season really struggled.

    Same as Bolton.

Don't see why the can't have them on Tuesday and Wednesday as well, unless there is TV rights involved.

I think we played 63 or 64 in the 2000-2001 season, we certainly played the most of any English team and more than the winners of the CL that year.

Imo teams playing UEFA Cup should have their league matches (after a UEFA Cup tie) on a Sunday evening.

The UEFA Cup only cost ys points in the Dutch league that season. At Christmas we were 1 of the key title challengers, Ajax run away from PSV and Feyenoord because they both played UEFA CUp. Feyenoord lost plenty of points after january, due to the overloaded schedule, especially immediately after UEFA Cup matches.

we never played in the intertoto so not because of that.

I think it is probably beause we had a couple of FA Cup replays...that probably pushed us up the extra 2
