So now we know Derby, Sunderland and Birmingham will be playing in the Premiership next season. I think (especially with the new money coming in) it will be the toughest Premiership ever.

So can the new sides cut it with the big boys ?

If so they have to splash the cash to survive ?

I think out of the 3 new teams, Sunderland are the team who need to make the most changes. I think Derby and Brum can put up a decent fight to stay up if they just ad 5 or 6 buys. To me the Sunderland team just looks well short of Premiership quality.

No, they don't have what it takes. Although i could see Brum scraping in at 17th place at the end of the season.

I think Birmingham are most likely to stay up, though Keane may be able to use his reputation to sign good players for Sunderland. Plus they have a lot of money as well.

Well Birmingham couldnt win the cc with that squad , with Bruce incharge I dont give them a chance.
Sunderland and Derby are ofcourse fav to go down but we have to wait and see as I dont think Wigan and Fulham got enough.

It will depend on what the plans of Wigan and Fulham are, otherwise the three will go down again. Sunderland is in a league of its own anyway.

I think Wigan and Fulham will both struggle next year. Brum will spend big and already have a a good group of playrs more suited to playing in the Prem thn in the Championship. I think they will stay up.

Davies has spent very well at Derby and he need to do it again this summer. They have a strong midfield but really need to strengthen their attack with 3 or 4 strikers cos Howard is their best one at the moment. Macken is $h!t and Fagan is too inconsistent.

When you look at Sunderland though i think they need massive investment, their squad is just geared towards doing well in the Championship. Keane did a great job but they do lack many premiership class players.

It will be too hard for all the promoted clubs to attract decent players...due to the money Us,Spurs,Villa and now Newcastle have. We'll attract the best outside the top 4.

Birmingham are close to signing Konchesky for £2m...

Having players is one thing , but to have the right mentality and discipline is needed , Keane could turn a bunch of average players to Premiership safety .. or it could all backfire , Sunderlands aim is to stay in the league and nothing more.

If Keane can pull some good signings they are on their way .. couple of the players they have can do well (Edwards, Stokes and Daryl Murphy etc)

Reading this season should be their inspiration

Reading this season have lost Sidwell...will lose Shorey, and need to hope that Doyle,Lita and Kitson can all have the same form which isn't likely...

As I've said Sunderlands aim is to maintain their Premiership status ..

They may not have quality players , but maybe a collective unit can compensate for that and be as effective ... they will try and sign players though, i don't normally believe what is said in the papers unless its 100% concrete , Sunderland have been linked with Nugent and Jussi .. they have been linked , not definite signings.
