Was Cannavarro to blame?
No idea, i've just got the goal updates on, but well done to the Italians who dug in well to scrape a narrow 2-1 away win against the mighty Faroe Islands who got beat 6-0 by Scotland.
Anyone know what the Italian press are like? Because the English press would butcher the team after a result like that

Great flick and finish.
i hope SAF was watching the game. France were playing 4-2-3-1 today, the same formation we might play next season.

Coupet, Clerc, Gallas, Thuram, Abidal, Toualan, Makelele, Nasri, Malouda, Ribery & Anelka.
Diaby hasn't come on. Btw Gallas has looked excellent.
@ Batman
If someone was scouting him tonight, they would be mad not to be impressed.

The Gallas and Thuram partnership is usually brilliant.
I am really starting to think that Anelka will move to a big club this Summer, it will be his last chance as well. Maybe he can prove that he isn't an entire waste of talent. Rumours are that if a Champions League side matches the fee Bolton paid for him then a clause is triggered allowing him to leave.

A big club should go for him if he sorts out his attitude.
Btw France have not lost( in fulltime) a single match when Gallas has played under Domenech

Yes, but the goalie could have saved it. Who do you support DD?
In a sense neither.
I'm also watching the France-Ukraine game on Eurosport so I can't see everything.
Ye I have the same problem, I always liked Belgium...but they seriously HATE us!!! In a Germany-Holland match they choose Germany...and they got invaded twice by the c**ts Also they were laughing there ass of in 2002.....time for payback
But Portugal plays the better football, allthough I still hate the c**ts. So Im neutral on this one, France-Ukraine is dire though.
We don't hate the Dutch. You'd be surprised how many of us will be supporting Oranje next summer.
So we had a laugh in 2002. Wouldn't you guys laugh at Germany if they were unable to qualify for a tournament.

See, nothing wrong with some healthy rivalry.
Hope Oranje win their group.

Studio Sport is still there, but sadly Eredivie football highlights have moved to Talpa/Tien, which has a lengthy commercial between every f*cking game.
Wish it was there too.
PS why aren't Belgian TV airing CL football anymore?

Well I lived close to the Belgium border for years! And was surprised how many literally hated us, I mean come on we arent that bad are we? But a lot of people supported us as well tbh.
I always had a weak spot for Belgium and always supported them. And will support them in the future, you have talented players but Vereyken is so cluelless even more then van Basten!

As for the football. Well, we are at an all time low right now. All thanks to some morons making some bad decisions.

Vidić focused on a three-horse race
Defender Nemanja Vidić feels Serbia have removed a key rival from the Group A qualifying race following Saturday's 2-0 victory against Finland.
Away win
Spanish coach Javier Clemente's position seemed to be in some doubt following a 2-1 defeat in Kazakhstan in March but a 1-1 draw against Portugal and victory against Finland in Helsinki has left Serbia third in the section, level on 14 points with the UEFA EURO 2004™ hosts. An early goal from Boško Janković and a late strike from Milan Jovanović did the damage on Saturday.
'One team less'
Manchester United FC defender Vidić believes his side are now engaged in a straight battle with Poland and Portugal for one of the two qualifying places, saying: "We have one team less to worry about and that's Finland. However, we are a still have a long way to go and it's going to be an uphill struggle because we're up against Poland and Portugal."
Debutants praised
"We controlled the game very well after scoring the early goal and sealed it in the closing stages," added 57-year-old coach Clemente who singled out debutants Antonio Rukavina, Zdravko Kuzmanović and Jovanović for special praise. "Rukavina is so young and he played like he had a wealth of experience, Jovanović did a great job while Kuzmanović was also very impressive." Serbia travel to Belgium for their next qualifier on 22 August.
