Doubt we'll get him anyway. I'm sure RVP and Robben have put a lot of Dutch players off joining the EPL, by being constantly injured.

Iraqi
midfielder Nashat Akram has received an invitation for a trial with
Manchester City, according to a statement on the player's own official
website.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who was second runner-up in the
2007 Asian Player of the Year voting, will undergo a 10-day trial with
Sven-Goran Eriksson's side after receiving the green light from his Abu
Dhabi-based club Al Ain for the trial.
"After receiving an invitation to undergo a 10-day trial with
Manchester City, Al-Ain's administration has given the green light to
Nashat Akram to go ahead and travel to England," said the website of
the former Al Shabab player.
"Akram will be heading to England in the upcoming days," added the website.
Akram will be the second west Asian player to trial with
Manchester City this week as AFC Player of the Year and Saudi Arabia
skipper Yasser Al Qahtani travelled to Manchester last week to trial
with the team.

Berbatov should stay until the end of the season as a matter of common decency. He was as $h!t as anyone at the start so should take some responsibility for our league position. Plus we've still got 3 cups to play for. If he leaves in the summer fair enough.

Sven has announced that we are working hard talking to agents about deals that would bring some 'really big name' players to City in deals that will cost 'lots of money'.
Id love to know who they are, hopefully Anelka or Berbatov (if Petrov and Bojinov can talk him round )

Re: January Transfers - Whats happening?
Blackburn boss Mark Hughes will not be taking any risks in the January transfer window.
The Ewood Park boss has the opportunity to make changes to his squad from Tuesday, but admits he is no rush to spend.
Hughes believes that any player he brings in must already be
attuned to the pace of the Premier League, making business at this time
of year more difficult.
Mistakes
He told Sky Sports News: "January is a difficult period
to negotiate. You have to be really certain that the players that
you're going to bring in can hit the ground running and can improve
you.
"From our point of view, if we spend money then we can't afford
to make mistakes. More mistakes are made in January than possibly in
the summer window.
"We'll have a look at the situation and what presents itself. We
get lots of phone calls from agents at this time of year, some of them
aren't really worth pursuing or even taking the call on occasions.
"That's the time of the year that we're in and there's a lot of
nonsense flying around and speculation about players, so you have to
wade through that.
"If something presents itself and we can do it or we have the
ability to do something that will enable us to bring good quality into
the club we will always look at that."
Savage
Robbie Savage has been linked with a move away from Ewood Park,
but Hughes has again insisted the midfielder remains an important
member of his squad.
He added: "There's a lot of speculation. A number of clubs have
enquired about the situation. The situation is that Robbie is
contracted to Blackburn Rovers.
"At the moment he's not particularly happy because he's not an
automatic choice in the team, but that's the same for the vast majority
of players in my squad.
"At the moment he's not in the team, but he's very much a valued
member of the squad and if I feel he's the right player for certain
games, he will play."
What do you think would Hughes/Moyes be still good in the market if they had big money?(moyes had flops though like Simon DAvies for 4m , Hughes has ooijer but these are not big money flops).

moyes has spent big. yakubu + johnson = £20m. which is over the odds, but they've both been relatively effective - although inconsistent.Dark Savante wrote:

hughes has been good at picking up bargains - i think he'd struggle to attract big money players to blackburn and might end up just overspending on mediocre if he did have more money.

I'm on a bit of Wummery . How many strikers do you actually need ?
Zamora would definetly out at this rate, and you've played Boa Morte up front too. If you Brought Bent in You'd have to let at least 1 go. That's why the Ashton story has legs.

A few years ago we signed Abou Diaby who had played in the UEFA Cup with Auxerre, he could still play in the Champions League that season for Arsenal.
