Alan Smith says something Empty Alan Smith says something

Post by lrdsucksgoats Mon Mar 03, 2008 8:31 pm

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/7275009.stm

Newcastle United striker Alan Smith has urged his
team-mates to start showing their mettle after Saturday's 1-0 defeat by
    Blackburn.

The Magpies are without a win in seven games and now sit just three points clear of the relegation zone.

Smith told BBC Radio Newcastle: "It is a time where we
have to stand up and be counted, go out in front of 52,000 people and
    prove our worth.
"We've got to show to everyone that we want to fight for the cause."

The 27-year-old has already experienced relegation
during his career, with Leeds United in 2004, and is aware of how
quickly Newcastle could be sucked in if results do not improve.

He said: "It's getting tight but you always knew it
would do. We looked at our home games as ones that were winnable, and
    one was against Blackburn.

"We've deserved criticism on occasions this season and we're all big enough to accept that.
"It's up to us as a team, as players, and as people to sort that out."

He always says the same things. Gotta fight for the cause. This is when we have to stand up and be counted. We have to get the crowd going, they want to see us giving our all. SHUT THE f@ck UP you are a $h!t footballer who is on the verge of getting his second huge club relegated

Alex Ferguson can spot talent. Smith will come good just like Forlan, Rossi, Bellion, Djemba-Djemba and Kleberson.

But most of those have had enough of him now. And Kuyt works harder than Smith. Smith simply makes a few wreckless tackles here and there. For someone who works so hard it's surprising he goes missing for 95% of the game. Both are shite but could Smith score all those goals in Holland? no chance

By the way love this quote from your link

Nancy Astor: “Sir, if you were my husband, I would give you poison.”
Churchill: “If I were your husband I would take it.”

Because CotR for a season or so you all loved him and was comparing him with every top forward/striker in the league (Rooney and Berbatov just two examples).

Kuyt had a decent first season, there's no shame in anyone who rated him. He hasn't clicked with Torres in the way he was starting to with Bellemy, addd to that his private difficulties and our receding backline he's been poor this season. Long term I'd still keep him but he's a bit of a Fletcher, lots of nothing.
