Spaniard Cuellar could be landed as part of a swap deal involving £5m-rated Alan Smith

It'll be more like £30m. Where the hell were they saying £80m?
No need to worry though - he'll probably waste most of it on Championship players

I bet if Smith had played the away leg,you wouldn't have lost the away leg.
His work rate in that game would have been very handy.

Re: Alan Smith
@ Kimmy
What exactly is tactically sensible about playing Smith ?!
He comes in, 1st day of training - sees smith is a non-scoring striker, who can't bring others into play, a non-passing CMF who doesn't (a) win the ball efficiently or (2) make good runs into the box.
If Keegan, who's biggest strength is getting players to play good football, were to like Smith, then

You tell me. Allardyce was apparently a good manager that deserved more time, and he was playing Smith every game. Now we have a "shite" manager that knows nothing about tactics and hasn't watched football for years, and he doesn't play him. You work it out.
Bring back Allardyce!

Someone on F365 raised this question - has Newcastle's recent run, and the 4-3-3 formation, coincided with Chris Hughton (who has been working as coach for a long time and knows all the Premiership teams' tactics) starting work as assistant manager?

Keegan has used to formation in the past. And this time he used it as soon as Viduka and Martins were fit, so i see no reason to doubt whether it was his idea.
