"I have worked at Sparta Rotterdam with much pleasure but this offer I could simply not refuse."

How many ex-players now run the club:

Frank de Boer, Aron Winter, Danny Blind, Marco van Basten, John van't Schip & Rob Witschge

Blind will be better than Van Geel, who lost touch from the common fan. Here’s to success for the new regime

    I understand your concern.

Interesting the report which evaluated Ajax in the past decade warned of entrusting roles to ex-players with limited experience … the decision to appoint Van Basten was correct IMO, a man of stature that will demand respect and has fresh ideas. He knows what he has to do, get real quality back into the team so the team is at a stage in which they can challenge for honours at home and abroad, not easy but at least end the P$V dynasty. Blind will basically be given the role to sort out the scouting network and with Frank & Aron make the academies conveyer belt back working.

Good news for Rai & KJH, bad news for the rest of us :

'Heerenveen en Ajax komen eruit over Sulejmani'

    08/05/2008 08:35

Berg is quality as well, but I rate Sulejmani a bit higher...he is an improved version of Zlatan, though not as strong, nor got his pace. But he is so awfully good skilled he doesnt need that.

If we have the intention to play for the title next year..we need to go after Berg and Aissati

Cause so far the difference is that ajax has Sulejmani and we Emnes..and that is exaclty the difference between a title or not.

Let’s try and through in some youth players (& if Sulejmani does join)

    ........................ Stekelenburg

    .......................... Vermaelen
    .......... Silva ............................ Vertonghen
    ......................... Van der Wiel
    ............... S d Jong ......... vd Heijden
    ............................ Suarez
    ......... Goossens ........................ Urby
    ............................ Sulejmani

I know it’s far from any possible 1st team, but I’ve thrown in players who deserve to be promoted and hope to be part of Van Bastens plans, for the integrity of the club I hope they are given a chance.

Van Persie Excited By Bergkamp And Ajax

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has admitted that he would love to play for a club with Marco van Basten and Dennis Bergkamp at the helm

Former Feyenoord forward Van Persie played with Bergkamp at Highbury for two years after becoming a Gunner. The injury-plagued striker thinks the Van Basten/Bergkamp union can be a successful one for the Godenzonen.

"It is extremely positive, what's happening there," Van Persie told Sportsweek magazine.

"Van Basten, Van 't Schip, Witschge and Bergkamp are pure football men. When you train under them things can hardly go wrong.

"Van Basten and Bergkamp together would have so much to offer. I would like to play under such a combination only not at Ajax of course.

The mess at PSV continues :

Aissati weigert contract met PSV te tekenen

    08/05/2008 09:20
