    Post by Ä Sun Jun 01, 2008 3:48 pm

in his latest interview with kicker he says that his style of playing is ideally suited to the EPL

which sounds pretty much like a "come and get me"-shout

    @children

you are forever interested in who the clueless Benitez should buy

well, Kuranyi would not even cost 10 million Euro; ie: about £7 million

considering that he is currently the best striker with Brazilian blood in his veins, I'd call that the BARGAIN of the CENTURY

    you heard it here first

    Stoke city it is then

He could be the new santa cruz

    Or the new voronin

In all seriousness though I think a club like bolton would be a good fit. He could be a star there instead of a sub at a team like spurs or villa

he would need a club where he gets lots of crosses

he's a brilliant header : so which EPL club has the best wing-play and overlapping FBs who can feed the boy, me wonders

Arsenal and Chelsea , clearly are not good enough on this account

Well he wouldn't get anywhere near the first team of arsenal or chelsea so this instantly rules them out

    Ditto united and liverpool

Is he really willing to be a bit part sub at this stage of his career? Who knows

    Spurs have berbatov and keane

    Villa have carew for crosses

Newcastle have martins and owen so they may be an option

Man City are looking for something a bit more exciting than kevin kuranyi

I think Bolton would be the perfect fit otto

    well

    then the deal is off

Kuranyi plays for mighty Schalke: in the CL

there is no way, he'll go to any club outside the top 4

Always used to buy him on Champ Manager, but know little about him in real life.

If any good striker is available for 7 million then half the clubs in the league should be interested.

Aston Villa wouldn't be too bad. In the UEFA cup, he'd probably get in the team in front of Carew and they have great crossers like Barry and Young.

Carew has been a monster for villa this season

The impression I got is that they love him there

Kuranyi would need to be very very good to get ahead of him

If crouch goes I would entertain the thought of him coming to us, but just like crouch he wouldn't fit into the way the team plays and would only be an option from the bench. Does this help german / brazilian - Irish relations otto

i am not sure what he would REALLY cost

last summer Zico was trying to pay big bugs with his Turkish side for the German and offered him a preposterous salary

but now Schlake fans and the management have slightly fallen out of love with Kevin

    +

they have a Dutch manager, who no doubt will sell ALL German players

Kuranyi could be on the market for a BARGAIN

here are his impressive stats for Germany

    http://www.dfb.de/index.php?id=137&action=showPlayer&player=kuranyi_kevin&lang=E&cHash=f1ec11c19c

the goals are listed at the bottom

one of the most underrated strikers in Europe

the Dutch have only Ruud who is still better

    Slightly off topic otto

But can you please explain to me why the managers and some fans of all these world class (in your own opinion) german / brazilian / polish players are becoming more and more critical of their contributions for their clubs. The list is growing with every passing year

because, for all the strengths of my fellow countrymen

    they are morons

    well, often

German fans are notoriously fickle and HYPER-critical

it's the kind of "critical" that does not exist in England AT ALL

Germans (fans, experts, commentators as well as ordinary people) are thriving on CRITICISM that is often detached from all reality

    +

anything FOREIGN is almost always better

for ages, cooking programmes on German TV would just concentrate on foreign food and wine; despite the fact that many of the best white wines in the world , for instance, are German

it's irrelevant: when Germans aren't moaning about their predicament, they are yearning for a Holiday or MOVE abroad

    essentially, Germans loathe themselves

read the Bundesliga or Nationalmannschaft thread: it's a constant moan-fest , despite the fact that we are in a good position

a year back our friend chrissi even dreamt of Bremen signing Huntelaar so that they could sell Klose, the best performer during a Werder season OF ALL TIME

but Huntelaar was a DUTCH TALTENT, so off you go, Miro

foreigners will NEVER understand this, and rightly so

I can see Kuranyi doing well in the EPL, much better than in other foreign leagues at least. He is a physical striker, works a lot for the team and can annoy the living Cr@p out of every defence (remember the friendly against England at Wembley last year, for example). He is very strong in the air, one of the very best in that area. He is a good option to have, every team needs at least one striker like him in their ranks.

His technique is his weakness. If he is not in form, he often has a touch of a rapist, loses too many balls this way. He can (and should) play well as lone striker, e.g. in a 4-3-3, and get service by wingers. With good service, he could score a bagful.
