özil is no upgrade to the likes of kroos, especially not at the international level, where a player type like kroos is far more important

    best midfield when all fit

half-decent start. several of our team keep making stupid decisions though and yet to do anything in final third. Germany been surprisingly wasteful at times.

Hart made the most important save of his England career then and then conceded a second later.

Predictable is not the end of the world, if it's still hard to defend against. e.g. Robben. obv Townsend not at that level but he occupies defenders & if he can improve decision making, has plenty of potential. don't think he's ready to be starter til he's more consistent.

Robben has way more to his game.

Townsend has had the typical hype but he's nothing special. Sums up the culture in this country that people get more excited about yet another speed merchant than Lallana.

I clearly didn't say he was at Robben's level, was merely making the point that it can still be hard to defend against some players even if you know what they're going to do and Robben is a good example of that.

Townsend needs to go back to getting down the wing and crossing more spreading defences that's what he was doing then cut in only a few times. He got away from this and is looking predictable for this.

a great great performance, in every aspect, thats the football i wanna see, we did also very well against italy

WE CAN WIN THE WC when we play like this

    very good in defending
    very good on corners
    absorbed the pressure really good
making clever fouls and prevent thereby dangerous situations
attacking players working there ass off (draxler)
    best bench in the world

LÖW has learned his lessons, and copied stuff from dortmund and bayern Wink

after these 2 friendlys i feel much better about the WC in Brazil

i think england had good spells, still weidenfeller did not have to make a single save

I watched the game (I'm on work leave). I think Colombia played a little better. In fact, they impressed me. Playing Holland in Holland as an equal is impressive for me, even in a friendly.

Hit the post in the end.

Not that I feel a particular need to defend Townsend, but it's funny how you're giving him grief (the next Stuart Downing etc) yet no mention of Sturridge doing absolutely fuck all yet again for England. The new Andy Cole?

Speaking of new Stuart Downings/Aaron Lennons, how's Raheem Sterling coming along?

    @Fey

I also thought Colombia still lacks objectivity when attacking. Too much passing around for little action. A bit like African teams.

Kroos has a great form for sure. I also like the Bender brothers very much and hope we see a great Gündogan next year. Then everything is possible. but only if Löw concentrates more on the defence and DMs.
