Mine (from what I've read, discussed and seen)

    -------------------- Schmeichel

    Neville ------- Stam -------- Edwards ------ Irwin

    Best --------- Keane -------- Robson ------ Giggs

    ---------------------- Charlton

    ------------------------ Law

    Manager: Sir Matt Busby

Had to leave out Cantona, but I think all of the front 6 have done more for United. Also Sir Matt just has the edge on Fergie for building the club from scrath.

I'm not even going to try, what I will do is a first 11 for arsenal since I was about 8 though:

    -------------------Seaman------------------

    Dixon------Adams----Campbell-----Cole

    Pires--------Vieira-----Petit-----Overmars

    --------------Henry----Bergkamp--------

The surprise clearly being that Wright didn't make it!

    Duncan Edwards.

One of the Busby Babes who died in '58.

Even Bobby Charlton said he was a class above.

    He could play anywhere.

He often played in defence and its alot easier to leave someone out of the defence from our history than in midfield or up front.

The only other defenders I can think of are Foulkes, Bruce, Pallister, McGrath and Ferdinand.

Just seen a link saying he played at centre half, but would often end matches as a second striker. So that explains the confusion.

Apparently he was just awesome. As a non United fan its a big shame from an England perspective as he could have been a legend in the league of Beckenbauer, Pele, Cruyff, Maradonna et al.

Loads of people say he would of taken Moore's place in '66 (strange to think it wouldn't of been Jack Charlton's though).

Can't compare them, completely different players. Podolski is one of the most clinical German strikers ever, he has everything to become a true great, he already has scored more goals for the Mannschaft than anyone else before him at his age (yes, even more than the great Gerd Müller). Messi is a huge talent, more of a attacking allrounder than a striker, technically already one of the best players in the world, pacy and a good footballing brain.

If both continue to improve like they did in the last few years, they'll be amongst the very best players in the world on their positions in near future.
