Three of the top 4 teams should take maximum points this weekend respectively. Liverpool obviously have the hardest game in the Merseyside derby. Everton do need a win though after their indifferent start to the season so definitely the game of the weekend.

Other games which are definitely worth a watch are Newcastle-Blackburn and Wigan-Man City.

Wonder what Robinho will be like away from home.

Man Utd and Arsenal should have no problems at all this weekend and I think Liverpool will have too much for Everton (don't they have a lot of kids on their bench at the moment?)

Slightly worried about our game as I can see us grinding out a 1-0 win in an extremely competitive match. Injuries are the last thing we need with a trip to Romania coming up on Wednesday.

Wigan away, wont be easy cos they are hard to break down and have some good quality players but im confident we can end our Wigan jinx and get a win. Cant wait to go, 5k blues will be there and the atmosphere will be great in our end.

Dont know a draw wouldnt be a bad result so i wouldnt be too unhappy with it.

Was $h!t to go out but we did batter them 21 shots to 6 and rested some of our players, still we should have had enough to win but these things happen, like Villa going out at home to QPR. TBH we have the UEFA cup and fa cup so it might not be a bad thing overall cos we have a lot of games to play....would rather have got through though obviously.

It is difficult to know how we will do on Saturday. I don't mean to invoke the wrath of the West Ham and Tottenham fans on here, and obviously your clubs haven't been the most stable of places either thus far this season - but I think we have, in the past two weeks, with Hull, West Ham and Tottenham, played three of the worst teams in the league at the moment, and yet we have been second best in all three games.

Blackburn are a team that we should beat soundly at home. As long as Martins and Owen stay fit, we just need to find some way of getting half decent balls to them and they'll score goals - they're two players with enough quality to rise above the state we are in at the moment - but the problem is in supplying them, whilst we seem to have a crumbling defence too, centre backs who are making mistakes and holding players who cannot hold in front of them. I'm hoping that Beye is fit - he will hopefully bring a bit of stability to our back line, and he's the only full back we have who can overlap. If we can fiddle with the midfield we have, maybe by sticking Geremi in the centre; perhaps by playing a 4-3-3 with Xisco (I don't think it makes any sense to continue with Cacapa and Butt in the centre in a game that we really must try to win), then I think we have a good chance of winning the game.

I'm very much looking forward to Wigan-Man City now. Theoritically City shoulg win this but this is Robinho's first game away from home against a strong Wigan side with Paul Scharner eagerly sniffing up his arse so it'll be good to see how he responds. I think Wigan will do this if they harass and force City into mistakes early on. If not then only one winner.

Hope we'll get a result at Pompey like we did last season - there defence seems a bit of a train wreck at the moment so maybe we'll win purely cos we're less Cr@p team, similar to Newcy on Wednesday.

I don't understand why teams like Portsmouth and Everton are struggling. Their (relative) success last year was based on a tight defence. How have they both just forgotten how to defend this season?

Well maybe Carsley was more important than people realised? Lescott has also gone off the boil from what I have seen.

Not sure why Pompy are struggling.

    Mascherano injured Sad

Pennant was great in midweek if you believe the radio commentary I was listening to (bbc radio Stoke) so Rafa seems to have swallowed his pride - or perhaps the 'rot in the reserves' stuff was paper talk. I said at half time last week that he could have made a difference against Stoke. His first place in a matchday squad this season though.

Liverpool's fullbacks will get plenty of chances to run forward with that kind of midfield for Everton...but on the other hand, Fellaini-Osman-Cahill will probably be able to outnumber and dominate Alonso-Gerrard.

Only because mascha is injured. It's the same team as against stoke but we won't be playing against a parked jumbo jet so it may work

We get another chance to see the torres, kuyt, keane attacking triumvirate in full flow again. I can't wait cyclops

We'll be relying heavily on riera and alonso today to provide a bit of shape to that side
