    4. Atletico

IMO Racing has been improving their squad enough.
Mallorca has Maxi, who's going to be one of the revelations of the season. Nastic seems to be doing well in the transfer market as well.

As a Barça fan, I am obviously a little bit worried but they were champions last year with two fingers up their nose. If they get their fingers out, they should well be able to withstand any challenge.

Well, this season Villarreal won't have the burden of trying to play both league and Champions. They have retained both Forlan and Riquelme plus they have signed some excellent attacking players (i.e. Nihat, Pires, Cani) in addition to their already strong defense.

I am not understanding those who have put Levante in their bottom three. Surely with their new signings, plus the quality players they already had, they should be well clear of any relegation scrap.

Of course, there is a chance that they will be there or there abouts seeing as they have come just back up. But have you seen the signings they've made? I watched them last year and was really impressed, and each one of their signings are players I personally rate. They may take time to gel, I see this as the only way that they will be in the bottom three.

My pick for Osasuna to drop is somewhat dependent on the qualification for the group stage of the CL. If the are eliminated by Hamburg, I think that would have a much better chance of avoiding the drop.

Look, it's very difficult to have dynasties in the modern game...I don't think we'll ever see Real Madrid winning 5 straight league titles followed by Barcelona winning 5. I was actually surprised that Barcelona won it last year because it is very difficult to repeat, no matter how good a side. There are too many strong sides and there are very few pushovers any more. Barcelona may well win it, but I like Valencia -- they have made some very good signings and in their second season under Quique Flores, I think they will be tough to beat.

Be fair, how many madridistas have (recently) been saying that we are going to get Kaka or Cesc? They are both impossible dreams -- hence the focus on Reyes and Diarra.

I would love to see Valencia mounting a title challenge. If anything the defence is their strongest area. They have two great full backs, whilst the two centre backs are two of the most experienced in the league. However, I am starting to doubt Ayala a little, he is eventually going to lose the consistancy that has kept him as one of the worlds top defenders for years.

The midefield will be stregthened alot if they sign the two players they have lately been linked with. They of course still have Baraja on the wing, whilst Edu and Albelda provide further strength. We will se over the partnership of Villa and Morientes, it could go either way, so all in all they have a good team, perhaps capable of winning, we will see.

baraja or edu not both in CM with Albelda

vicente and gavilan out wide, angulo as cover. i still think that quique is over rated as a manager (if he´d been any good they´d have finished 2nd last season) and that they currently have a severe lack ofstrength in depth and we suffered from that last season

    Forgot to mention Vicente...

In stating that I did not mean them to play together in CM, I just meant they are both quality providing strength to the squad. Each player would get in the vast majority of La Liga XI's.

Places 3-7 will be very competative and its so hard to pick. If Valencia can get Andrande and Simao in then i think they might sneak third but if they dont i think they might miss out on the Champs League spot.
