Apart from the eagerly anticipated Carling Cup final this weekend ( ) there are also some important Premier league games!

All the sides competing for champions league and Uefa places can say they have fairly easy games this weekend. With United not playing obviously it's a massive chance for Liverpool to reduce the gap at the top but an away game after an away european tie does not bode well and the absence of Torres means Kuyt will most likely lead the line by himself

Hopefully Gerrard will be passed fit to start which will be a massive boost and I think if we play well we can have a fairly comfortable afternoon as Boro are falling apart lately...

Have a feeling Hammers-City could be a decent game.

We rebuilt slightly the other night beating West Ham!

Plus we're due our game where we fuck up someones hopes for the title.

Apparantly Arbeloa is out injured...

With no Agger our defence will probably be:

Steven Gerrard makes his first start in almost a month against Middlesbrough this afternoon as Rafa Benítez makes four changes from the side that beat Real Madrid.

Nabil El Zhar comes in for his first league start ahead of Albert Riera, while Sami Hyypia and Ryan Babel replace injured duo Alvaro Arbeloa and Fernando Torres.

The Reds XI in full is: Reina, Aurelio, Hyypia, Skrtel, Carragher, Alonso, Gerrard, Babel, Mascherano, El Zhar, Kuyt.

Game over for West Brom, they have an OK attack but with that defence they don't stand a chance in this league.
