Hull in massive trouble - 40 mins gone, and they're 0-2 down against fellow relegation battlers Blackburn. Warnock and Andrews with the goals.

They should be ok relativly nice fixtures and still a few points or so ahead of the rest there. Blackburn now can escape with a few more and hopefully drag Potsmouth down there cheers

If Bolton had the keeper who kept for France a few weeks ago against Argentina, Gutierrez would have just scored as he did in that match - he cut inside and shot in a very similar fashion, but Jaaskelainen saved. We've just had our first decent spell of the game, with Martins coming close from a corner with a good leap, having been absolutely awful through the first half hour. The midfielders are struggling to compete with Bolton's physically; Steven Taylor has been the only player really bringing the ball forward with conviction from the back; we've looked disorganised and we've lumped the ball too often. We are playing the 4-4-2 I hoped for at least, with Lovenkrands on the right and Gutierrez on the left.

Butt and Matt Taylor, who seems like a pain, just had a little push-and-shove and they received yellow cards.

The first half ends with a nice piece of control and a clearance from Steve Harper, after an overhit back-pass from Steven Taylor. A very poor half of football overall - we came into the game after the thirty-minute mark, but we were very much second best before that point, and both teams have hit too many long balls, and neither team has really gelled or looked especially cohesive in attack or defence. Elmander missed a couple of good chances for Bolton; Martins came closest for us with a header from a corner. We need to keep possession more; Butt has made some good tackles today, but we don't look very strong in the midfield, with Taylor in the centre and Lovenkrands out wide.

Andreas Andersson is today's special guest on Canalplus. They've managed to dredge up the few goals he scored for us. How is that for half-time match analysis? An extensive review of three goals Andreas Andersson scored for us ten years ago.

I don't know who to blame for that goal - it looked so easy - I guess the whole of our midfield and defence were to blame for it. The stupid kick-off, where got Ameobi to run down the touchline and lofted the ball to him, thereby losing possession immediately, didn't help.

Hull have pulled one back against Blackburn. I'd like that game to finish in a draw - I can see Hull getting dragged into the relegation battle whatever happens today, and I don't want Blackburn to start picking up wins.

West Ham up to 7th. We have a chance to climb even higher, our next few games are

    Wigan
    West Brom
    Blackburn
    Sunderland
    Spurs

    All seem winnable.

We should have had a penalty. Coloccini's shot was blocked by Samuel's hands in the area. Martins has come off for Viduka - I guess because he's not able to go ninety minutes yet - but it leaves a dearth of pace and flair in our attack. Our bench today was a ridiculous one - it comprised so many similar, one-dimensional, slow attackers - LuaLua and Ranger are the sort of players who can potentially change games, just because they're lively, they have pace, and LuaLua likes to run with the ball; whereas with Viduka, Carroll, Smith and Geremi we have to continue lumping the ball, and the pace of our game doesn't pick up.

Typical Man. City, absolutely hopeless away from home. It's really strange why there are always 2 or 3 teams in the Premiership each season who are lambs on the road.

Hughes has to go. He just isn't cutting it. He never seemed to praise Robinho when City were doing great and so was Robinho obviously no coincedence. Since then he's taken him off a lot seemed open to critism of him and then bought a striker who would maybe hinder his game. De Jong was an awful choice as well. They looked great at the beginning of the season even if it was mostly at home, and now after more money they look worse. And it's purely Hughes's fault. Build your team around the best, don't try to show them who's boss.

    Aston Villa 1-0 Stoke

Puts more pressure on Spurs to win the final this afternoon because it's looking less likely that they will get the 4th Champions League place.

    Great performance, well deserved victory.

Savio was class...but MOTM was Collison. Great performance and finish. City were poor and were well beaten...despite Hughes saying it was a sucker punch Laughing.

Bellamy was also rubbish, and couldn't take the stick. He also asked to come off...Laughing cheers.
