Wigan-Portsmouth is obviously the big one. Who will finish 12th? And who will be consigned to the dustbin of 14th/15th? Can't believe they're not showing it on TV

(actually it shows the extent of Wigan's slump that they could finish as low as 15th..just as the fact Villa may end up only 3pts ahead of Fulham shows the extent of ours)

    Hopefully Phil Dowd.

Do you predict any players/managers who will cry if you get relegated? I'm thinking S.Taylor.

It'd be quite fairytale if Jonas scored his first goal to keep you up. We're quite good at conceding goals, so there's a chance ok

I thought Newcastle was safe already? Erm

If Carew plays I'm afraid Newcastle might be doomed.

But tbh Newcastle have the destiny in own hands, so it's up to them if they want to be relegated or not. Last match they showed lust to stay up for the first time in... several games at least Smile

I was actually thinking of Dowd. Little fucker would love it, i've never seen someone enjoys giving out red cards so much, he even tops Bennett.

It would be quite a fairytale if Jonas scored his first goal to keep us up, but then it would quickly turn into a nightmare when the ref rules it out because Martins has the nerve to be standing somewhere in the penalty box. scratch

No, they lost to Fulham at the weekend - in fact, destiny is out of their hands now. If Sunderland and Hull win, they are down. However, Sunderland face Chelsea and Hull face Man Utd, so there is reasonable chance one or both will drop points.

Yes, if we beat Villa then both Sunderland and Hull have to win to send us down; a draw against Villa is only good for us if Hull lose their game, so I think we have to really go for the win on Sunday. There are various ways to assess Hull's game - I've heard some people suggesting that we will benefit from Man Utd playing a young team, because the young players will be up for the match - but whatever, I do think Hull will secure a point at least on the day.

I think we were unlucky over the weekend in that Fulham's goal came somewhat against the run of play, and Viduka's header shouldn't have been ruled out. But we got lucky with a couple of decisions against Middlesbrough last Monday, so I don't think we can complain too much.

I'd love to see Jonas grab a goal on Sunday, but I don't see it happening. I thought he had perhaps his worst game for us yet against Fulham, and I lost a bit of patience with him because of it. It is one thing to look hesitant and lacking in confidence in the final third, but Jonas, who is almost 27 years old, looks as though he's never struck a ball properly in that area of the pitch in his life. Some of his passes in excellent positions around the area on Saturday were absolutely atrocious; and he also received the ball on several occasions with the goal in sight, but instead of turning inside and shooting, he turned outside and let good opportunities pass.

We always beat Everton at home. They always beat us (and have already this season) at goodison. So we should secure 7th. But it would be typical to lose and have Tottenham beat Liverpool. So I really hope with nothing to play for Liverpool will relax and overwhelm Tottenham.

Just noticed our goals for is 39. Which having been defensively minded isn't that bad compared to others below us. Only Man City have scored a considerable amount more.

The Sun are running a story that the North East's clubs could sue us if they go down due to Hull getting points off us if we field a weakened team. Very Happy

    Boro are already down.

Not necessarily - United are quite capable of putting 3 or 4 past Hull which would mean Boro would only need to win by one or two. (Trouble of course is that Hull will defend like anything whether they're 2 or 3 down already purely for that reason.

I think ultimately it'll all come down to the Villa/Newc game though.

I think they probably will go down mind - boro i mean.

With this whole - fielding a weakened team nonsense. How could the football league actually pin them down on that one? Who's to say who's first team and certainly who's to say that they should play their first team just before the CL final? Methinks United will have none of that.

We should sue everyone we can, most importantly we should sue the Premier league and/or individual referees. We should take Howard Webb for everything he's got, i recognize they make mistakes, but what he did takes the biscuit. <Ale>
