Re: Tottenham Hotspur 2010/11
Good signing, especially with the injury of Modric. And without Modric, VDV and Huddlestone will form a real heavyweight midfield. A club just below the topclubs is excellent for VDV, so im pretty sure he will do well!

Sounds like shit. We need someone to play on the left. VDV can't play on the left.

Expect him to do well in England also, no matter if he plays for Spurs or Arsenal. He should have never moved to Spain, but it was a dream of his apparently.

Bale can play left wing, but Tottenham can't win with him on the pitch.

Lennon could play on the left and Bentley on the right.
Whichever way we look at it, we're considerably weaker without Luka

Bentley and Corluka on the same side of the pitch? Makes Huddlestone look like Usain Bolt.
And yes, it's a massive, MASSIVE blow

Re: Tottenham Hotspur 2010/11
Tottenham boss Harry Redknap is back in for Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.
The Daily Mail says Luke Modric faces at least six weeks out with a fractured fibula in his right leg following a tackle by Birmingham's Lee Bowyer.
And that has seen Redknapp revive their bid for Real's unwanted Dutchman Van der Vaart.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur 2010/11
Last day rumours we're about to sign David James and Niko Krankjar from Portsmouth.
The Krankjar one is something I expected long before this. Good player, and having Modric and Corluka already at Spurs seems a given that Niko would want to join his compatriots.
Certainly a better option than VDV, Prem experience and can play on the left.
Martin Petrov also rumoured. Out and out left winger surplus to requirement at Man City.
Again, preferable to a silly money bid for VDV.

Why David James? Is Gomes out for a long time? Seems bizarre when you have him and Cudicini..

Did not see. But how long is Gomes out? James wouldn't sign to be back-up, and Gomes was starting to look good 2nd half of last season.

So we've signed Krankjar.
It was inevitable really that he'd join Croatia FC.
2million is a snip. Really good signing.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur 2010/11
Apparently we were after Stipe Pletikosa as well this week,
but unfortunately he tore his ACL few days ago.
I bet Gomes isnt far away from his return though,
considering we've loaned out absolutely every young goalkeeper bar the ones at academy age.
Ben Alnwick -> Norwich
David Button -> Crewe
Oscar Jansson -> Exeter
Lee Butcher -> Grays Ath.

'Rosenthal' - is there a more stereotypical name for a Spurs fan?
What's up Spurs? Good start of the season, but who will replace Modric in the coming months? Any clues?
