Blackpool have cancelled a pre season tour as they only have 8 players... Didn't realise they were so fucked up

I don't know how they can be fucked, they came up to the premier league and barely spent anything, then will have got parachute payments.

Re: Championship & Football League
Solid start against a very poor Bolton side.
Good to see Vydra scoring and Deeney continuing where he left off.
I haven't seen many experts even tipping us for top 6 !!!
We finished 13th but we gave up when we slipped out of playoff contention with a few to play.
Highest scorers 2 seasons ago, 3rd highest last season without Vydra and Abdi (for the most part) I'm very optimistic but the squad is ridiculously big which could create a negative atmosphere.
Only 3 signings have not played for Watford or in the Championship in the past - one of them is 190cm and the other 2 are great athletes (Paredes was class yesterday) so should handle the English game.
My only concern at the moment is that Abdi and McGugan should both play in the hole between 2 DM/CM and attack but we have one DM and these 2 - we should only pick one and I hope Keith Andrews come in for McGugan at Norwich - Zola made this same mistake at the start of last season.
Cannot believe that Chung Yong Lee is still at Bolton - class act.
Mark Robins sacked after one game !!!
Lot of optimism about the 'boro - Kike any good Coops ?

Re: Championship & Football League
He looks pretty decent to me. Early doors obviously but took his goal really well yesterday, seems to cause alot of problems for the defence all game.
I have some minor optimism I have to admit. Usually the kiss of death.

We scored a brilliant goal. Fat c**t linesman ruled it out for no understandable reason.
Genuinely getting to the point where I'm sick of football.. Even when there's good, the officials destroy it.

Great start to the season ruined by Ekstrand getting sent off for an elbow after 2 mins.
Stupid c**t once got a yellow in a CL qualifier v Arsenal after 12 secs !!!
You can't afford to have someone like that but if Cathcart/Hoban come in then it may be good long term.

Ryan Frederick signed from Spurs, no idea about him.
Patrick Bamford signed from Chelsea, heard only good, sounds like we might have another goal scorer

This is a decent article about Karanka - http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/oct/17/aitor-karanka-middlesbough-basque-manager
I like short story about Gibson, seems like a rare good guy among owners.
On the other side reading financial reports of Championship teams is a grim lecture

Re: Championship & Football League
Then there is the Tottenham connection. While Patrick Bamford, Kenneth Omeruo and Jamal Blackman were borrowed from Chelsea, Spurs have placed Ryan Fredericks and Milos Veljkovic in Karanka’s care. “I took my coaching licences with Mauricio Pochettino and know him very well,” the Middlesbrough manager says. “We worked together on three courses, Mauricio’s someone I talk to a lot.”
Ahhhh. Wondered why they've gone up their in particular.

The ultimate in niggadom.
@ Coops - hows Fredericks getting on? Just seen that you asked for a quick scouting report in our thread at the time the loan was announced. Would've told you that he's a lightweight pace merchant, Kyle Walker without the muscle.
Originally a winger but lacks the skill/creativity to really cut it at the top level as one, similar to Danny Rose, becoming a full-back is his best bet.
You'll like Veljkovic. Bit short for a CB, but sturdy. I think eventually he'll move into DM, very calm and efficient on the ball. Always positive on how he moves the ball forward.

I've not seen a lot of Fredericks to be honest, but what I have seen he's actually been pretty good. He's not Cafu...... But a fine job thus far.

Bournemouth are doing very well since they've got Boruc on loan from Southampton. They have 4 wins in a row now and last 3 matches finished with clean sheets as well.debaser wrote:Birmingham 0 Bournemouth 8
