Yeah same...I just read that it was. Though it's not unthinkable that he could be in front of United fans and have something thrown at him by a nearby City fan. They're close together...it'd be like celebrating in front of the away fans at St James'..you're still in front of the home fans.

I put it to our resident Liverpool fans: imagine that coin had been thrown by an Everton fan at at Suarez for celebrating in front of the Everton bench during the game at Goodison, followed up with someone running onto the pitch in an attempt to physically confront him. You'd all be - quite rightly - going hysterical about it

I never said I hated Bale, although I acknowledge that he is probably one of the least likeable of your currently disappointingly unloathsome bunch of players. Just said that as a diver and a chap coming across as increasingly big for his boots (with every right to be you might say), he was perfectly fair game to be compared to the likes of Suarez, who I don't hate either. Gerrard might be a terrible diver too but that's not really why I despise him.

I thought that was a very good dive from Cazorla, in real time it was very difficult to see what was going on, and it looked as though as he twisted and turned the defender stuck a foot out which knocked him off balance.

I'm kind of failing to give a shit about Rio being hit by a coin. He's a twat, he's just a twat, a really twatty twat.

Rio wanted a quid, doesn't he realise that a heavier coin would hurt more?

Suarez would probably have got a yellow card for complaining about it. He would then have thrown it back into the crowd and earned himself a ban.

I think it was coz you is a bit too PC innit and had, for my taste, an unnecessarily high regard for his experiences of racism and thus right to take on a role of guru in such matters. Since then of course we've had the likes of Peter Herbert and perhaps the nadir of Rio daring to criticize Cameron (of whom I am of course scarcely a fan) for saying some strong words on the Serbia racism issue, on the grounds that we should "get our own house in order first" or some such.

So no apology needed, it is far more gratifying to see people come round to a view they have previously ridiculed me for

Agree re Rio.

Having said that if a fan had caught Rooney (yesterday) or hernandez (Chelsea away) flush in the face with a brick I would have had no complaints.

People say - what about the abuse they take ? Yeah those Chelsea songs about Hernandez are beyond the pale - come on, you've all heard them

More importantly re Rio's performances yesterday and at Anfield - "purely footballing reasons"

Set-pieces aside, it amazes me how many people think United's defence rather than their "midfield" is the problem.

City always look like they are impersonating a footballing side (badly).

They get it it down and play but they move it around so slowly and deliberately that they can never catch the opponents defence out of position.
