Depends who we sign in the summer. We'll have more incentive to offer the top players. If we add a good midfielder and a good defender or two I don't see any reason why we can't be even better.

True, but it's also conceivable that someone will come in with a huge offer for Suarez. Who knows what will happen.

In the summer he was desperate to leave for a team that never wins trophies. If a team comes in that has been in the CL for years and that can offer him a payrise, he could leave.

Possibly but he has mentioned many times he wants to experience Anfield on a CL night. If he leaves it won't be next season. You'd have to be crazy to leave such a sexy team at the minute.

Never got the 'specialness' of nights at Anfield. If you're comparing with the lack of atmosphere at places like Emirates and Stamford Bridge where teams play those games with alarming regularity for many years infront of a largely corporate middle class audience, then of course it's more special. However, Stoke in the CL would make for a better atmosphere than the likes of Liverpool or Spurs too, because their knuckle daggers wouldn't have experienced anything like it.

Special nights at Anfield is a proliferated narrative from a media that was infused with a lot of the Liverpool old boys wistfully waxing about their clubs glory days in the 80s before it all went relatively speaking to shit.

Unless playing You'll Never Walk Alone before the game and having fans holding their half half scarves upside down constitutes special. Who knows.

In England Liverpool has pretty good support, but compared to abroad it's not as good, due to the fact that because of the high fees you attract a different crowd. And it lacks TIFO, Fireworks etc.

Madrid, Monaco, PSG? You probably scoff at the last 2, but they can just say they'll pay £100k more than whatever Liverpool can pay. They have no limit.

You think Suarez would leave the most challenging and entertaining league in the world where he's owning defences and breaking records to play in the French league for a bit of money?  Laughing I don't think he's too short of money. He will leave eventually but next season? I'll cut my penis off if he does.

Yes. Money is king. Also bear in mind that they could tell his agent to name his price. I'm not saying he will leave, but it's not laughable to think he will.

I think it's far fetched to say he could leave next season personally. He's as likely as Aguero leaving City.

Who knows.

Or maybe actually making so much noise that the ground shakes like in 05 and 07 semis vs Chelsea.

If you've never been to a CL night at Anfield quite frankly you can't say shit. We might not sing 'oh when the reds go marching in' repeatedly but our atmosphere is incredible on the big CL nights.

Two posts ago you were comparing Anfield nights to Emirates ones, Arsenal who have been in the competition 16 years in a row and you haven't since 08 (?) . And you're lagging off a competition you weren't even able to qualify for last year! lol!

Do you have any self awareness?

Anymore "special" than White Hart Lane was against Inter in '11 for example? You dont hear other clubs self fellating themselves about making a bit of noise the way Pool fans do.

Well Spurs only get to experience such an occasion once every 50 years so you were bound to be a bit noisy.

Hey, Suarez said he wanted to experience the famous atmosphere, don't be jealous now that Baledinho didn't stick around for famous Thursday nights against FC Dnipro.
