i  have to say this squad is excellent, the ginter deal isn`t done yet though

they also made a deal with evonik (the same what bayern did with adidas and audi), until 2025 evonik will splash over 300 million into dortmund, also rumours say that puma is on his way to become there next partner aswell

According to Kicker, BVB have signed Matthias Ginter, the highly rated 20 year old central defender part of the German WC winning squad. Apparently, BVB paid 10m for him.

Hummels' successor once / if Hummels decides to leave, don't think that it will happen this season though.

Actuslly Xavier is right. If anyone is blamed for Kagawa time in Manchester its Ferguson - he brought him and then he didn't know how to utilize him. Moyes still didn't use him as "10", but at least played him narrower coming from left side and allowed to combine with forwards more.

Kehl has retired from captaincy. If Hummels is the next BVB captain, his chances to be Lahm's successor in the NT should increase, too.

    Hummels, Subotic, Sokratis, Ginter

The central defence of Dortmund is just ridiculous, strength in depth that even Bayern (or any other team I can think of right now) don't have on that position.

If Gündogan gets even close to his pre-injury form, Dortmund will get an enormous boost of quality. Best Dortmund player before his injury and in that form, best Dortmund player again. And yes, that includes the likes of Reus, Götze or Lewandowski (back then).

Germany will welcome him with open arms, too.

The genius is back! Reus came back from that nasty injury that cost him the WC and immediately ran the show today, great goal and assist, MOTM as so often. Hope he stays in Dortmund for a few more years. Such a monster of a player.

Hope to see him in a Germany shirt next week, too. Even in that ridiculous German attacking midfield, he stands out.

You gotta love teams like Dortmund. They are the spice to a boring league brew. Schalke may lough at them...but whats better: Win the league one year and nearly relegated the other year or foreveralways be the Aston Villa, Schalke 04 or Bayer Leverkusen? Smile

    Biggrin

Edit: To be fair to Leverkusen and Schalke, their 2nd places where some of the most exciting in history clown

To be fair to Dortmund, Leverkusen and Schalke also experienced huge collapses after their "exciting" 2nd place finishes in '01-'02 and '09-'10 respectively. Any idea why collapses like that are more common in the Bundesliga than in other parts?

I'm not a Dortmund fan, but they've been decimated by injuries. Their back four is a collage all season. Nobody knows who'll be in midfield again because of injuries and they signed Immobile and Ramos to replace Lewandowski and strikers take some time to settle. Aubameyang is the focal point in attack but he's at his best on the wings to then make diagonals with his speed.

They can't field the same XI in back to back games. I still think they'll finish in the top four, but they'd better start winning now (they've got to dig in, injuries or not, and all of them rise up to the monumental challenge now). Can Klopp handle adversity? Surely he knows he's not gonna have Scottish refs to bail him out all the time. <Ale>

Well..there is Bayern, if you do well, they will eat you in the summer. They had this policy for ages, yet they were hardly more succesfull in the last 20 years then lets say Utd. Who dont have this policy, and compete with more powerfull clubs.

The other clubs should all leave and create an anti-Bayern league. Would be great, every year a new winner. Perhaps even Schalke will win it once.
