Re: Premier League 29-30 November
Pure comedy gold, this c**t knows fuck all about football.
David Pleat "Tottenham have had more attempts on goal than Everton and that is largely down to Harry Kane, who has been shooting on sight." He just sees one guy playing doesn't he!
This was after that great assist by Lennon to Soldado.

Yes, Barkley has quicker feet than Gerrard, and he also has Gerrard's midfield football brain. Martínez had better coach that out of him quickly.

It wasn't Martínez chopping wood with the ball at his feet! It was Barry.
He picked Barry... And he seems to coach defending out of teams..

There was only two outcomes in that play: Kane wins a foul or loses possession.
Kane offers little, very little to nothing outside the box. He's a decent poacher, mind you.

Re: Premier League 29-30 November
The ideal subs would've been Lamela for Kane. Lennon was having a very good game, but Pochettino is not oblivious to the media's pressure.
Martínez should've taken out Barkley and not Mirallas, his best player today by far. Osman for Eto'o was spot on.

Re: Premier League 29-30 November
Barkley is slow as fuck mentally. A real #10 would've seen Coleman (very good player!) making that run for a tap in. Barkley wasted two seconds before making that through ball.
The game is on the balance because Pochettino has weakened the team with his subs. Martínez's team is unchanged strength wise.

If QPR can beat them then I'll be disappointed if we can't. Then again I'm not sure I trust Brendan to leave Gerrard out.

Last minutes of the game Kane probably ran more miles than anyone in the game and did not have the strength to carry on and score....hmmmmmmmm......
While one of the best finishers in the game today Aguero one on one with Brit goalie Forester missed his chance.....

He does run more than Lamela, but football is not about running more. It is about spatial awareness, quick passing and running just enough to win games while saving as much energy as possible for the future.

Re: Premier League 29-30 November
Harry Kane was superb today
Humoured by Puro's insistence on belittling his contribution based on calling for him to be subbed before the match even began. Watch the two goals again: both occurred because Kane was the catalyst. Get over your tired anti-Brit bullshit for a moment and open your eyes. I dont care what nationality he or any of our players are, as long as they perform. Kane performs, and today his tenacity, awareness and directness were exactly what we needed, theres a touch of the Müller about him in he is a selfless team player, gets in the right positions and has excellent vision. We have too many players who are technically proficient but utterly lacking in those qualities. Its no surprise that the team played with more vigour and urgency when we had our academy products Mason/Kane/Lennon/Bentaleb playing, as they clearly care for the club in ways that others apparently dont (like Paulinho, who cant wait to leave). Pochettino isnt an idiot, he sees this, knows this and why the win today was so satisfying. Stinger pointed it out - on paper our team looked poor, yet that was as strong a performance over 90minutes as we have put in at home all season. Maybe as a professional coach he knows more than the rest of us....

Re: Premier League 29-30 November
Kane is a decent poacher. His all out running outside the box will please the David Pleats of this world, but players like that only give you one good game a month nowadays. That's why he won't do shit next game. TFS!
The problem with Kane is that he was born 25 years too late, he is Lineker in 2014. We are seeing Lineker 2014, the game has evolved so much.

On paper your team looked so poor that was the best Tottenham game this football season. Can you believe the nerve of this people to say stupid shite like that!!!

I'm going to disagree. Comparing Lineker to Kane makes no sense whatsoever. Lineker was an out and out 'last line' fox in the box nr 9 forward. An exceptional one at that - just look at Soldado as a player who attempts to play in that mould but is inferior.
Harry Kane is a second striker more in the nr 10 role, he has been throughout his youth career at Spurs and England - he plays deep behind the striker, and hence why he is capable of playing the kind of ball he did for the winner at West Ham:
Poachers also don't tend to score goals like this (off the right foot):
Or this (off the left foot):
He has also played more than one decent game in a month - infact he's arguably been our most consistent performer behind Hugo Lloris.
Kane isn't blessed with immense technique or pace, but he is so much more effective than his peers who have both. Lamela being a prime example of being all tidy technique, but frustratingly little awareness to do the simple things well. Hence the Müller comparisons with Kane - people are quick to notice the gangly style, the 'tap ins' (which rely on acute positional awareness) and claim he is just a poacher, but having watched Kane regularly: he is a player with real 'game intelligence'. He clearly shows a willingness to learn and appears to be improving month on month. Therefore Pochettino is the perfect type of coach for him if he wants to become a top class player in the future
