Northwood 1-3 WATFORD (Jarrett, Priskin, Blizzard)

Wycombe 2-3 WATFORD (Spring, Mackay, King)

Boreham Wood 2-5 WATFORD (Young, Priskin 2, Bouazza, Henderson)

AC Horsens (Den) 0-4 WATFORD (King 2, Young, Priskin)

    WATFORD 1-1 Inter (King)

    WATFORD 2-1 (Young, Spring)

    Cool Cool Cool

The Chievo game today was great - excellent goals from Young and a superb volley from Amauri (good work from Semioli, Brighi and Obinna in the build up - although the latter was very dissapointing).

I'd like us to start with this team at Everton and I reckon we can win there:

    ...................Foster

    Doyley..Demerit..Shittu..Powell

    Chambers..Francis..Mahon..Young
    .....................Spring

    ......................King

    * Interestingly, Ashley Young (probably the most productive player in English football last season from set-pieces) didn't take any corners or free-kicks v Inter and Chievo and all our set pieces were shit.

I reckon this is so Moyes' people are in the dark with regards to our set piece routines for the new season.

Our pre-season (Chelsea) has been very poor. We suffered a lot from having many players in the WC until latter stages.

A loss against an MLS All-star side, a win vs Feyenoord (pretty good performance), a draw vs Celtic and a loss to Liverpool today.

I dont think José has quite got his formations sorted tbh.

Sheva - Drogba is a good partnership, but were having a lot of trouble putting midfielders behind them.

Our pre-season has gone pretty well, we had respectable results against better teams in PSV and Villarreal and we seem to be qualifying for the UEFA Cup quite comfortably. <Ale>

    Newcastle 1-1 Lillestrom (Luque)
Lillestrom 0-3 Newcastle (Ameobi 2, Emre)

    Norwich 1-2 Newcastle (Ramage, N'Zogbia)

    Newcastle 2-3 PSV (Ameobi, Luque)

Newcastle 3-3 Villarreal (Ameobi, Butt 2)

    Ventspils 0-1 (Bramble)

Emre, Ameobi, the Zog, and Milner have been most impressive. ok

They had a lot of older players in the team i know it wasn't their first choice but the average age was higher then that they had more experienced (older) reserves

I dont think it means anything, we won all of our pre-season games a few years ago and we were still poor throughout the season.

Can't say too much because I haven't gotten to watch any of it Sad. But the games appear to have been a bit haphazard, with starting lineups all varying greatly. We haven't started a single match with our strongest 11, mainly because of all the different fitness levels of the World Cup players. Glimpses of our brilliant attacking play are there, but that was mostly against easy opposition.

Commercially it's been a huge success, hopefully now with the club making a profit we won't need any more of these big tours.
