Because he's lanky. We despise them in the same way we dislike gingers (Boro).

For two reasons in my opinion.

He lacks any real pace to penetrate defences, and he also likes to drop deep and link up play, as a result would get under Rooney's feet.

If Rooney plays i don't believe Crouch should, if Rooney doesn't play he needs a play who will play on the shoulder of the last defender.

Not really...gets a lot of flukey goals and penalties from his dives though. Ultimately, not international class.

I saw the posts of the first page and people making comparison with Crouch.

Drogba scored 5 goals in his first CL with Marseille in 2003.
They finished 3rd, then he scored 6 goals in UEFA.
Marseille lost the final against Valencia.

So 5+6 = 11 goals, not bad for his first european season.

    True though.

(who are you referring to as best youngster though - Messi or Iniesta? Razz )

Your wit may be dry but Vidic's bed will be wet at the prospect of facing Crouchinho in Athens.

I take it you want Villa to warm your bench and occasionally fill in when Crouch is injured Very Happy
