How seriously do you take football?
I would say for me personally somewhere between the second and third option.

would not make ANY difference
take Bremen away and there's HSV
take HSV away and there's Berlin
take ALL clubs away and there is the Nationalmannschaft
take football away: who cares frankly
Tour de France in summer +
NBA + Timo Boll, table tennis genius + a bit of F1 + Handball + Winter Sports + Surfing
take ALL sports away and I'd just move on to become an environmentalist or peace campaigner in my spare time

I'd probably get recover after a couple of months. I'd probably enjoy it more if i was neutral tbh.

You should have had a option between 2&3...
more close to 2 for me After almost 20 years, it will take time to get over Inter and start supporting a different club... I probably will become a Fiorentina supporter after a few years...

i still havn't accepted Euro2000 and Istanbul and the Deportivo defeat, and worldcup 2002 exit in that manner still really really angers.
I have however accepted the World Cup final defeat to Brazil, i was only 9
As i get older, i'll probably just learn to put football into context and realise that other things are far more important, but i'm still young, so i suppose i'll continue to get too caught up in the emotions!

I'd recover within a few months and just watch football as a neutral. But I'd still want my club's rivals to lose every time they play

Re: How seriously do you take football?
I'd be depressed for years, but not severely depressed. It would be horrible for the first few months, but even after that period, watching football still wouldn't be the same because I couldn't start seriously supporting another team.

I personally wouldn't care that much - I mean, my club only really exists as it is, it isn't actually going anywhere. I've accepted it long time ago

Re: How seriously do you take football?
Severely depressed about something like this is just wrong. If you'd ever been severely depressed you would know why - not that I have but someone close to me has and to be honest, if you feel that way for even a month, let alone 3 or 4 months about football then there is something seriously wrong with you.
I'd feel a bit depressed for a couple of months and then move on - I'd probably continue to follow the players from Arsenal that had moved on as a result of the clubs closure

Re: How seriously do you take football?
I can't believe anyone would be suicidal, but there would be some angry people out there if their clubs ceased to exist. I would be very saddened if this was ever to happen to Arsenal, I would be down in myself for months. It would feel like something was missing, but as Tweeds said it is only football, there are many important things in life.
I would still follow European football but would not adopt a new team to support. I would just appreciate the game.

Re: How seriously do you take football?
If Milan cease to exist, the entire family would be a massive void in our lives.
Brescia or Palermo is obviously the logical choice if i chose to adopt another side, but i doubt if i would. Neutrality sounds the best, for an appreciative stance.

I can't really pick because the question is:
If your club ceased to exist tomorrow, would you
Be suicidal?
Be severely depressed for years (3-4)?
Recover after a month or two?
Move onto another sport?
Take it on the chin and be philosophical?
If any clubs ceased to exist I guess my favourite players would just play elsewhere so I wouldn't care at all, except I wouldn't want Milan or Inter to cease to exist as I often go to the san siro (I am sharing a season ticket for Milan next year so that would be wasted).

That stocklisted company from 020 on the other hand could be bought by a hedgefund & split up to maximize profits. Stadium to AZ, De Toekomst to a project developer, who could turn it into an exclusive graveyard or something like that & the players to Chelski.
