or something. Impossible to do this really as its horses for courses - Zambrotta is the best left-back for a team with no wingers, but there's no way you'd take him over Ashley Cole if you don't need an attacking full-back.

True, cashley is better defensively but not half as good on the ball as zambrotta. so was also expecting Alves on your list because none of those players u mentioned is as good in an attacking fullback role as him.

In the games where we need to attack the flanks and supply width, I'd take Bridge over Cole. However in the games where the opposition are so strong down the flanks (Barcelona, Man Utd, Valencia etc) I'd have Cole over Bridge any day.
