    ...understandably won't get the interest of the big 3 but still some major transfers going through.

    High profile ones:

    Mario MELCHIOT: Rennes - Wigan

    Jacques FATY: Rennes - Marseille

    Gael GIVET: Monaco - Marseille

    Benoit CHEYROU: Auxerre - Marseille

    Franck RIBERY: Marseille - Bayern

    Tofilou MAOULIDA: Marseilles - Auxerre

    Lionel MATHIS: Auxerre - Sochaux

    TIAGO: Lyon - Juventus

    Matthieu BODMER: Lille - Lyon

    Abdul Kaider KEITA: Lille - Lyon

    Dimitri PAYET: Nantes - St.Etienne

    Efstathios TAVLARIDIS: Lille - St.Etienne

    Kanga AKALE: Auxerre - Lens

    Jean-Claude DARCHEVILLE: Bordeaux - Rangers

    Bernard MENDY: PSG - Metz

    Auxerre are getting raped as are Lille - Marseille very busy and lets face it they needed 2 CB's.

    Suprised by Akale as Lens have Monterubio but Guy Roux will be well aware of what Akale can do - his best season was 2004/2005 (under Roux) and he hasn't hit those heights since.

    What's the latest on this xtremely talented kid (Lille's Eden Hazard):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odrcPCEJsko

    Allegedly FC Barcelona are after him

    By the way Lille signed another belgium 15 year old (forgot his name) who is supposed to be the biggest talent Belgium ever had.

    There scouting is VERY VERY good.

    I haven't heard of either of them TBH - Mirallas is good too.

    Their scouting is very good but they only take kids from Northern France or Belgium.

    They figure that there will be talented kids in the South etc but they will be homesick.

    The ones from the North and Belgium will always settle ok so they are more likely to get the best out of whatever they get.

    I don't think Mendy's been done yet, I read today he might be heading to Parma...

    Payet to St -étienne is good news, he's one hell of a player, and it means that Gomis might move on to a bigger club.

    Indeed. They made the wise choice to be the best at scouting in their target region (in stead of spreading their resources and be average at scouting everywhere). Bit similar to Heerenveen & Scandinavia.

    I've said on other threads that he is, on paper, the most complete CM in the game - there doesn't appear to be an attribute that you could want from a footballer that he doesn't have.

    However sometimes its better to have specialists than an all-rounder and his absence from the team last season didn't appear to have a negative effect on results.

    As well as his skills he would bring some much needed (?) pace, size and strength to the Barca midfield.

    He scored an og and got sent off in his last game for ASM !

    As you are apart of the Kluivert fan club i will take your word for it.

    But to does seem that he would be more of a replacement for deco than the dmen we need.

    €13m + 2 € bonus. Quite sad to see him go, but Bodmer should do well. Tiago is nice chap, he never said or did anything bad about the club. Barcelona could have been a better option IMO, to replace Deco who hasn't been brilliant this year.

    Toure will be a hell of a player in a few years. He was not able to show what he was capable because the team was unstable. He also had problems with the first manager. Monaco are doing a big big mistake if they're allowing to go to Barca, but this year they have been really average. If he decides to join Barca he'll be able to discuss about Monaco will several players: Thuram, Marquez, Saviola and Guily. lol

    Wow, 15 million is more than I expected for Tiago.

    Monaco can have Giuly. But I think he will pick Marseille or Lyon.

    I also hope we can convince Aulas to let Abidal go for a max. 15 million. He's asking too much for a left-back, even though Abidal is a fantastic player.

    What about the Marseille captain being linked with Newcastle? Any truth in that?

    Winger Faubert linked with Ibrox

    Rangers are to sign Girondins de Bordeaux winger Julien Faubert for £4.3m, according to L'Equipe.

    He would follow striker Jean-Claude Darcheville from the French club to Ibrox should the reported four-year contract be confirmed.

    The 23-year-old Faubert, who joined Bordeaux from Cannes in 2004, has been capped twice by France.

    He made his debut in August against Bosnia, scoring a last-minute winner to secure a 2-1 victory for the French.

    A lack of width has been earmarked as a problem by Rangers manager Walter Smith since he took over from Paul Le Guen during last season.

    And the Glasgow club are also reported to be close to signing USA winger DaMarcus Beasley from PSV Eindhoven

    Personally I'm not a big fan of Akalé, and with Monterrubio already there it seemed pointless.

    Apparently this means Monterrubio will leave for Toulouse, which would be a fantastic buy for them. I think he'd deserve a place in the French squad, instead of players living on reputation (Govou, Wiltord).

    Akale was great in his last season with Roux though - only Robben and Vicente were better than him that season.

    I heard that Lille is interested in signing Mohammed Tchité from Anderlecht and is willing to pay a good deal of money for it (approx 7-10 mil €)

    Have there been contacts or is this just speculation because I would really hate to see him leave.

    I think he's worth a bit more than 15 in today's crazy hyped market. The reason the management left him for this price is because they were able to get Bodmer for peanuts.

    If Lyon think that Bodmer is a replacement ofr Tiago then they're nuts.

    Their system requires a DM a CM and an AM.

    IMO:

    Diarra = DM
    Toulalan = DM/CM
    Tiago = CM
    Juninho = AM
    Kallstrom = AM (poss CM)
    Bodmer = AM

    I don't know how they make that work - you can't give Bodmer midfielder's responsibilities as you will stifle him.

    A lot of people will say he was a DM or Cm before but that's in the past - his position is either:

    ......dm cm.....

    rw......MB.....lw

    ..........cf..................

    or

    ..........dm.......

    ....cm..........cm

    ...........MB.......

    ........cf.....cf

    I don't know which formation we will have next year, but one thing for sure it won't be the same.

    With Bodmer and Keita the formation will either be 4-3-3 (or 4-5-1) or 4-4-2. Keita will play on the right or as a CM, whereas Bodmer will have Tiago's role or Juninho's, and that's why they bought him.
