Bundesliga: Big ONE League Empty Bundesliga: Big ONE League

    Post by 72-76-80-96-08 Fri Jun 29, 2007 1:25 pm

top Euros may be spent elsewhere

a Bundesliga player may never become World Football Player of the year

a Lampard may never even consider entertaining 80.000 fans in Dortmund

    but one thing is CERTAIN:

no other league is as good at spotting a nation's BEST PLAYER as the Bundesliga

    <Ale> <Ale> <Ale>

think about England, France, Brazil, Peru, Paraguay, German, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Denmark, Mexico, USA....

their best player, or their best player at the World Cup, is earning his or her Deutschmarks in the Bundesliga

Holland: VDV + Boulah (at WC)

Brazil: Ze Roberto , Lucio, Juan, Diego

    Mexico: Pardo

    England: the Canadian

    Denmark: Poulsen, Larssen

    USA: Donavan, Feilhaber

    Portugal: Meira

    Italy: Toni

    France: Sagnol , Ribery

    Germany: where to start Question

    Peru: Guerrero, Pizzarro

Paraguay: SAnta Cruz (just scored 3 against Columbia)

    Czechs (at WC): Rosicky

    Belgium: Kompany and van Buyten

    .......

the glamour boys often tend to play in England, Spain or Italy

Kaka and Ronnie were poor at the WC: Ze Roberto was the only decent Brazilian

C.Ronaldo did nothing at the WC; Meira was easily the best

VDV is so completely on a different level to the other Dutchies, it's insane

Gilardino and del Piero were invisible at the WC: Toni was not

Lampard, Gerrard, Becks, Terry and Rooney choked in the heat and humidity of Gelsenkirchen: Hargreaves did not

    and so it continues

all of which proves conclusively that talk of the BIG THREE is DRIVEL

rather we should ponder the brilliance of the BIG ONE

    ie

    the BIG ONE, followed by

    the NEXT THREE

    Forget the World Cup FFS

Cannavaro was the BEST play at the WC , you know it Ale

    Kaka was not poor

6 weeks does not make or break a career ,

since the World Cup the players you have mentioned

    either became $h!t like Ballack

    or have done nothing

plus Toni + Ribery were not playing for a German side before the World Cup Doh

and did Diego even play for Brazil .. Question

Del Piero just needed to score in the semis ok

still , Good try 3.5/10 for effort

You may one day break the 5/10 mark ..

    look , Johannes and Co

the list is a mixed bag

the best Brazilian player at the World Cup was EASILY Ze Roberto; Kaka WAS shite; ditto overhyped Ronnie, Carlos...

Ze Roberto then went on to play in the Brazilian league where he became Player of the Year again

whereas Ronnie continued to be shite and Kaka was blowing hot and cold

then you have the Dutchies: VDV is hands down the best Nederlander in the World; not van Persie, not Ruud, not Kuyt ...

nothing has changed; BUT, Boulahrouz was brilliant at HSV, one of the top two Dutchies at the World Cup, and then went on to become a Chelsea sub

not everybody can keep it up; agreed

del Piero must be one of the overhyped Italians of all time; Gilardino one of the most overhped Italian TALENTS of all time and TONI is the REAL DEAL

which he came to realise and decided to play in the BIG ONE, where hype is for pussies and brilliant, honest work is for MEN

Ribery smelled the coffee and decided the NEXT THREE was not for him; he wanted to go where Sagnol , the best World Cup Frenchie, played already

Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Becks sent us all to sleep with their non-performances

English girls these days only fawn about Canadian muscles, and shriek when they see King's Road's finest Pie

the only missing piece in the puzzle is a proper, best Argie; their former captain Sorin is getting on a bit

Riquelme , please step forward and join Schalke

where does all this brilliant, honest work lead? The only titles German clubs win nowadays are the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal.

honesty and brilliance are rarely appreciated

why is Paris Hilton always in the news Question

why was Liz Hurley ever allowed to act Question

why are Blair and Bush not in prison Question

how could Blair start a war in the Middle EAst and support the Israelis' invasion of the Lebanon and then get appointed as official Middle EAst PEACE Envoy when he is one of the most unpopular figures in the region Question

how come Voeller's Nationalmannschaft played more entertaining football in his first two years, and successfully so, than Klinsi's boys, yet the one is a laughing stock of blut and chrissi's and the other is a hero , despite stumbling in the semis AT HOME Question

how come a majority of polled internet users rate Makaay higher than Klose Question

how come Dunkirk was the making of Heroes rather than Cowards Question

how come Liverpool pay £27 million for Torres ( with Garcia going the other way), when nobody would pay more than 6 million Euros for the Spaniard in the Bundesliga Question

    @toon

not everything in life makes sense; brilliance is not always appreciated; honesty often laughed at

which is why the Bundesliga is THE ONE and ONLY measure of excellence we know these days

a light-house in a vicious sea of hype

a beacon of truth in the darkness of lies

    @ THE BIG ONE

please forgive us, for we have prayed at the altar of false, next three gods for too long

RVP pisses all over the ability of VDV

No he doesn't, they're different type of players (it seems Van Basten isn't the only one who doesn't get that...) :

VDV is a playmaker, he's incredibly creative, has brilliant vision, a good free kick and lethal distance shot.

Van Persie is a winger/second striker, he's got great moves to get past a guy, has good vision, a lethal free kick and is a decent finisher.

It's probably a matter of taste of what type of player you rate higher : for me the visionary creative playmaker will always defeat the skilled and technical winger who's got great moves...

Van Basten thinks these guys are interchangeable as RW in the same system Doh

Why not play 4-4-2 with Ruud and RVP as strikers and VDV as a number 10 behind them : best of *all* possible worlds...

Agree with you to some point. RVP can play as playmaker as well. Allthough in Oranje its probably more usefull to play him as a second striker with VDV behind them. Allthough you know as well as me that a 4-2-2 Oranje is never going to happen if Cruyff is still alive.
