10 players you would pay £27 million for?

Torres should complete his move to Liverpool this week for around £27m. Most people would agree that this is too much for Torres. But how many players are worth £27m in your opinion? Based on current ability or potential.

I would like you to list 10 players that you would be happy for your club to pay £27m for.

Would you pay £27m for a goalkeeper? Some people say that a world class goalkeeper can win you at least 10 points at the end of the season. Look what happened to Chelsea when Cech was injured and Juve did sign Buffon for around £32m in 2001.

Tevez

and maybe Ronaldo, Messi, and Eto'o.

Goalkeepers - Petr Cech

Defenders - None

Midfielders - Michael Essien, Kaka

Forwards/Strikers - Ronaldinhio, Messi, Eto'o


I'd pay over £30 million for all of the above. That's 6 players.

Then there's loads of players who may make that level but I'd try to get the transfer figure down nearer to £20 million - Berbatov, Tevez etc.

Its what the other team would sell their player , may not be the market value

i.e. Essien when he left Lyon was not worth £25M+

if you take away marketing and shirt sales considerations , virtually nobody is worth that much money

No goalkeeper is worth £27m, because the quality difference to other keepers who are slightly worse (or don't have the name rather) does not justify such a price. Keepers are usually relatively low priced, compared to attacking players, especially attacking / central midfielders and strikers.

Buying Owen, Luque, and Boumsong weren't exactly smart moves - and they were damaging financially. We threw the boat out, nevermind pushing it.

Not overated. But there are players that I would certainly have ahead of him. Being honest he wasn't at his usual best last year so maybe that is on peoples minds too.

£10m is probably the most i would go to for a keeper, maybe £12m if it is an exceptioanl talent like a Buffon, Given, or Cassilas. But £27m... no.

f@ck off..until now, out most expensive player ever has cost us £14million, which is less than your most expensive player. Wouldn't blink? We've never spent that much in our history.

To have one of the best players in his position for the next 10 years is worth that money imo.

Many players would cost £27M or more, just coz their club wouldn't want them to go... but if you ask me, the playeres who are actually worth that much amount include:

10 Players:
Buffon, Cech, Kaka, Eissen, C Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Ibrahimovic, Messi, Eto'o & Drogba.

Quite a few will be close, £20-30M, like Tevez, Mascherano, De Rossi, Cambiasso, Rooney, Cassillas, etc
