What would your ideal team look like next summer if everything goes to plan?

    Italy:

    -----------------Toni-----------------
    ------Cassano------Quagliarella----
    -----------De Rossi-Gattuso--------
    Zambrotta------Pirlo----------Oddo
    ---------Materazzi-Cannavaro------
    -----------------Buffon---------------

Leave Totti! Would be good if Nesta came back though!

The first XI picks itself basically, the only exceptions are the attack and goal keeper, where we have a lot of excellent alternatives. The system is a double pivot 4-4-2.

    Code:

    -------------Lehmann-------------
    Lahm-Mertesacker-Metzelder-Jansen
    ----------Frings--Ballack--------
    --Schneider------Schweinsteiger--
    ---------Klose-----Gomez---------

Lehmann will most probably remain our first choice goalie for EC 2008, although we have a couple of excellent alternatives who are at least as good already.

The attack is not that clear though. Klose has the best chances to be in the first XI, but it remains to be seen how Kuranyi and Gomez will do next season. One of them will most probably start next year. Podolski only has a chance if he has a great season and proves everyone wrong. But with the strong competition he now has to face in Bayern, it's not very likely.

Schweinsteiger needs to get fit soon also, otherwise he might lose his starting place as well.

And there are quite a few youngsters coming through who will make the competition even more fierce.

Blut here's hoping Schlaudraff gets in there , meaning him to have a sensational season , Schneider may not be the automatic choice by then though.
And what if KPB have an exceptional season at Spurs(if he goes there).

Schneider is in the form of his life, he was the second best player of the last season after Diego. I really can't see him getting worse anytime soon. He's still very fit, and he is the most important player of his club.

Schneider is the most underrated player on this planet, seriously. We do have young alternatives for his position, but none of them have the great vision and pure technical brilliance yet. Not even mentioning his experience (CL and WC final).

Injuries, good point. Hopefully, all of the mentioned players stay fit next season. I'm especially worried about Schweinsteiger, hopefully he'll be back to his best soon. We need him.

Weise, Hildebrand and Rensing are good options to have.

Honestly, it's high time that we have a Germany - Holland or Germany - England match in a major competition again, preferably in the knock out stages. Rivalries need to be renewed constantly, otherwise they might lose their relevance.

We have to set a few things straight anyway. Very Happy

I want us to meet Italy also though. They've beaten us too often in important matches, it's really about time to return the favour. If both teams do well next year, I'd like us to meet them in the final, or at least in the semis.

We didn't care about 'tough draws' back then, we won't this time either. 2000 & 2004 = worst German national teams ever. Europe won't be so lucky next year. Very Happy
