No Rift at Chelsea, and Football to be played Empty No Rift at Chelsea, and Football to be played

Post by Tom Sun Jul 15, 2007 4:37 pm

Already posted parts of it in the Chelsea thread, however:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/6899379.stm

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he
and club owner Roman Abramovich held clear-the-air talks at Stamford
    Bridge last week.

A rift between the pair overshadowed Chelsea's efforts last season.

But speaking in Los Angeles, Mourinho said: "It was a long and enjoyable meeting. I was more than delighted. The air is clear and there's no problem."

So for those who still aren't convinved that we'll be improving next season, this little quote by Jose may convince you:

"I want to go back to wingers and play attacking football," Mourinho explained. "The objective of having players like Robben, Cole, Malouda and Kalou is because we want to give width to our game, to give speed, to give creativity.

"I want to go back to wingers and play attacking football"

So that looks very good, it also gets better with this as well:

    http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=476902&CPID=8&clid=8&lid=&title=Jose+confident+over+trio

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is confident Frank Lampard, John Terry and Arjen Robben will stay at the club.

If Robben is staying...that could mean SWP is going?

The thing is unless he is willing to play on the left I don't know if we need him. I think I'd prefer Faubert on the right.

Well as we're going back to 4-3-3 then there is a need for 4 wingers, but no-one particularly enjoys being a backup (bar Winston Bogarde), so he might be on his way out. If not now, then maybe in Jan barring any injuries.

No mention of SWP. On his way out, me thinks.

if you play ballack instead of lump though luis it means the wingers will actually recieve the ball every now and again

but we've been saying this stuff for ages and flump is going to be in chelsea's team whether the fans like it or not next year which provides the rest of the league with hope. you can only imagine how good they would be with a deco pulling the strings instead of a flump

The fat fat f@ck had a great season when Chelsea were using wingers too. I think in both the 04/05 and 05/06 season when Chelsea were by far the best team in the league. When Chelsea changed the fat fat f@ck played $h!t.

However I will go with the "Get rid of the fat c**t" ok

Good to see Jose talking about playing attacking football. Still no word coming out of the Camp Nou from Rijkaard about teaching his players how to defend properly. Razz

It'll be a surprise. You'll only realise what's happened when Gabi Milito has kept Drogba in his pocket all game long, and Puyol keeps getting "fouled" by Shevchenko Whistle

We shall have to wait and see if there is any substance behind the statement, its about bloody time i say, for all the creativity in the team and money thats been made available, you would expect to watch more attractive / attacking brand of football.

this could be the new formation

i see no problems for ballack, there a lot more problems with sheva, because there will only 1 real striker playing

Thats surprisingly a really good point. Will Sheva be happy playing second fiddle to the Drogs?

Or could he try his work on the wings, and its not exactly like he's got the pace to beat a fullback and whip in a nice cross. Deary me, what a conundrum

What nonsense. If Ballack is the 'obstacle' in this respect, why is he the strategic mastermind of a very attacking German national team? Why was he the focal point of a very attacking Leverkusen team that reached the CL final a few years ago, against all odds?

He really should have moved to Spain.

Ballack is not untouchable, says Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has followed up public confirmation that his rift with the Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is repaired by suggesting that one of the club's most eye-catching signings, Michael Ballack, will no longer be considered "untouchable" when the season begins next month.

The 30-year-old is missing his club's pre-season tour of the United States, which began with a 2-1 win over Club America on Saturday, as he continues his rehabilitation having twice undergone surgery on an ankle problem sustained towards the end of last season. Indeed, Mourinho had been frustrated to learn that the German had had the first of those operations during the run-in and has made it clear that the player starts "from zero" when he returns to training.

"You asked me about Ballack? What I can say is that he's a player I like," said Mourinho. "I like him very much. But his life is not easy. Like [for] the other people, life is not easy. We have a lot of good players. I'm not the kind of coach that gives places to people just because they are faces or names.

"Everybody with me has to fight for his place. But I think they have a difficult task because the squad is really good. But Ballack is injured so when he comes back he will start from zero and will face some of the other boys already in top condition and playing football, so I don't think it will be easy for him."
