I saw Big Phillip take out Deco (who has been utter gash in the last 3 games) and bring in Drogba for a 4-3-3 formation (none of this 4-1-4-1 Cr@p) and we're able to start breaking down 'park the bus' teams at home. I know that people have been saying that you need a creative player like Deco or Joe Cole for these games, but I think you also need someone who can break down defences physically and Drogba's one of the best in the world at doing that (if not the best).
Haven't seen the goals. Heard Ashley Cole had another stormer and was unlucky with the double save from Carson.

Well I hope Hangeland is fit for Sunday so you can see us park ours right in the middle of fulham road.
Seriously though I thought Jagielka was more than a match for Drogba on Monday. Excellent defender.

Yeah he had a good game - should've scored the second shot of the "double save" I think though. If only he had a right foot. I think Joe Cole was probably my MoM.
I thought it was a strange performance... We were totally dominant and should have won by more, but it didn't really feel like it. We only really ever seem to play at one pace which doesn't help.
Drogba looked very good, despite having a few chances to score that he didn't take (not that any of them were sitters). I still don't like Anelka.
Lampard's finish was class, though there was a comedy moment in the 2nd half when he tried to chip it over Carson for a second time and Carson just stood up and caught it.

Fulham away next. Despite all the banter and "hatred" I really do worry about us playing them. Even when they've been down the bottom end of the Premiership they've always given us problems to think about. Now they've got the best home record in the league (as far as I'm aware) and we've got the best away record... should be one hell of a match.

How shit are Deco's corners. Right in front of where I sit, he hit Andy Johnson (no giant) ten yards away twice.

Quite like the Stadium, you need to renovate the left side tho.

Left side
The Johnny Haynes stand is grade 2 listed so not much can be done there. Over a century old. Feels it as well. What's wrong with the others? Not sure I want to renovate the stadium as we struggle to sell out any but the top games, plus I like our stadium.

Credit to Fulham for not giving up. We had enough chances to extend the lead but they were always dangerous on the counter attack. Hodgson is doing a wonderful job there and was classy in his post-match interview.

If true, it'll be interesting to see the players' celebrations when Drogba scores a goal next. And it's quite interesting that yet again something has leaked from inside the Chelsea dressing room.

Vargas cost £15m in the summer and i didnt think he would be available, plus like Zhirkov although very good he is untested in the epl.
£12m is a bit above what id value him at but he has lots of EPL experiance, champs league experiance and 32 international caps, plus he is still a good age. £8-10m would have been better but we are rich as f@ck so whats £4m. It will be a bt annoying but we will be ripped off a bit cos clubs know how rich we are, the important thing is to bring in quality.
Plus look at it like this...we sold SWP for £21m to Chelsea and bought him back for £8m.....so you could say we got Bridge for free

Wayne Bridge says he moved to Manchester City because he could not shift Ashley Cole from Chelsea's left-back slot, irrespective of his form.
"No matter how well I played, I was never going to establish myself there," he told a news conference on Thursday.
"Maybe manager Luiz Felipe Scolari thinks Cole is a better left-back than me - that is the way football goes."
Bridge, 28, became City's first signing of the transfer window after signing from Chelsea in an estimated £10m deal.
"I thought I was going to get a lot more games [at Chelsea] than what I had been doing," Bridge revealed.
"It just was not happening and it was probably the most frustrated I have been.
"There was a time when I had a string of games in the first team, and then Ashley Cole came straight back in."
-------------------------
Not just Scolari who thinks that, but Ericsson, Mourinho, Capello, Grant and McClaren too.

Feel Bridge played well whenever asked and was then dropped for no reason just because Cole was fit. Should have had more chances and I don't blame him for leaving.

well I can understand the bigger picture, perhaps I can explain it to you.
Ideally he'd like first team football and a big money long term contract, however he'd be an idiot to turn down a multi million pound contract when there are no offers coming in for him. Yes, I'm sure he could have found another club if he'd put in a transfer request, but probably not on the same money or at such a high profile club.
Suppose he turns down the contract and then gets a career ending injury?
