Park - 7 Assist and loads of industry
Fletcher - 8 Great goal, great second half.
O'Shea - 7 PASSING WAS POOR Smile But did his job well
Ronaldo - 7 Involved with everything, unlucky with the crossbar shot

When Ole had his first chance he missed, he had a go at Carrick for not shooting and setting up Ole.

Thought it was great, unselfish play which on your debut is what people want to see.

Happy with the win but man these players need to start thinking when they play. Brown handball was as clear a penalty as they come, he's just lucky that ref is as blind as a bat.

And Silvestre's tackle from behind when they guy was moving AWAY from goal. Mother of God these players want to give me an anuerism.

Plus a lot of dodgy decisions in our favour from the ref.

That's a little overly-pessimistic, but I agree with your sentiment. There were alot of dodgy moments tonight that shouldn't be papered over IMHO.

Good win again though, but have either of the sides you've faced looked like anything more than relegation candidates? Spurs will be the first real test IMHO.

You are to negative robert, we hit the woodwork like 3-4 times aswell. i thought the ref was pretty good bar the brown handball. and silvestre always will do stupid things.

What? I just said he was being overly pessimistic. It was a good win, but there was a period first half where they could have scored 3-4 times; not great defending. It's hardly an unfair assessment parky.

Not really, I remember one incident when Heriderson tackled I think it was PArk from behind and got penalised. Then Brown goes and does it and gets away with it.

And there were about 7 incidents where the ref seemed to lack consistency.

Fair enough we hit the post 3 times, but think about the situation at the time had those penalties been given, at 1-0/2-0 they would have closed shop and then I doubt there would have been space to score 3 goals.

Sheffield utd played the game like a cup final. ok nice attempt at a dig though, and good work with your english, no miss-spelling, though the punctuation could do with a little improvement.

Congrats Man U, you seem to have started strongly and don't seem to be missing RVN at all. Obviously I'm waiting for MOTD to see, but it sounds like a strong performance, full of invention.

Game on for the league title this season, with Chelsea losing already. Makes them psychologically very beatable. Come on Liverpool, Come on United, one of you can do it!

A semi colon would really jazz it up.

What? They never had a chance to score, when did they threaten the goal at all in the first half?

I know who were playing and I'm not going to get over confident but I can't see how anyone can say we didn't play well, Brown's handle and Silvestre's shocking performances aside. Should of been by more as well.

I'd only pick holes, if there are holes to pick at.

Good point, my idea for a semi colon was probably a little adavanced; it is after all an andvanced skill at GCSE english.

I watched the game, the performance was quite dominant mainly because Charlton were very poor. IMO the scoreline doesn't quite do justice even if they hit the woodwork 3 times, because the first 2 goals did come from blatant defensive mistakes. But still, it was comfortable for them and they did deserve to win.

Silvestre dropping the ball at the feet of the attacker (ambrose I think) and when bent popped up at the back-post first half, Brown wasn't overly aware of him. Silvestre should have conceded a penalty aswell, and Evra was fairly fortunate (considering Powell at the weekend) to get away with 2 hand balls. [/quote]

That's all I'm saying; as cotr pointed out, there was a period of about 10 minutes where they had 80% of the ball. So they obviously had you under the cosh for a period. Not taking away at all from your victory - it was clinical. I wouldn't rave about the performance and say it was spectacular. I'd say it was thoroughly professional though. I just agree - though I'm not as down on the performance as Robert - plenty could have gone against you tonight that didn't. Plus, the defending for 2 of their goals was absolutely abysmal, even if the finishes were top notch.

The booking came after he did that for a second time. At least he more or less behaved after that.
