Fucking hell i cant believe how bad Milan are at the moment, i thought after the international break they'd start to turn things around but obviously not the case. The Scuddeto looks lost after only 8 games.

I'd rather have our striker than their's tbh. Bellucci can't stop scoring...plus we then have Montella, Cassano and Caracciolo.
Milan have scoring problems...apart from smashing Lazio 5-1...they have struggled to score in others.

Re: Serie A - The 2007-08 season thread
So what's the latest news on Geriatrico Milan? Is Ancelotti in danger of being sacked? Any names of potential successors being mentioned? My guess: Rijkaard.
By the way pretty impressed by Napoli so far this season. CL in 2 years me thinks. Thank you mr. De Laurentis.

I can't see Rijkaard wanting to manage a Serie B team next season.

Mourinho has again reiterated he would like to "test myself against the tacticians in Italy".
Inter's initial wobbles have disappeared, so it's down to Juve and Milan now.

Re: Serie A - The 2007-08 season thread
Milan won't sack Ancelotti.
In the last 4 years he has delivered:
2 CLs, 1 Scudetto, 2 Supercups, and 1 Coppa Italia.
None of the people contributing on this thread can say the same about their teams.
I think we can turn things around still. The team just needs to be slightly quicker against teams who shut up shop.
I know a lot of people on this board dislike Milan, but the truth is this team turns it around when it matters. I think if we don't win next week, however, we will be out of the Scudetto race.

Re: Serie A - The 2007-08 season thread
Forza, I truly believe Ancelotti cannot motivate the players anymore. And actually i've supported this view since last year. He is more like one of the boys rather than a coach that they have to impress and this is apparent especially when we play the small teams in Serie A, whereas when we face the Bayerns and Man Utds of the world they're all fired up.
And everybody knows that whenever a team plays with 10 men behind ball we struggle, A LOT. Personally, i couldn't care less about the CL; and i do believe that last year's victory actually was bad for the club, in the sense that now we have to listen to the delusional clown Galliani 'justifying' the lack of spending in the market with quotes like "we're European Champions, we don't need anyone" and "we are fine as we are" etc.
Of course, last year it was the penalisation that left us out of the title race, i'm waiting to hear what Baldie has to say now. And i hate this 'family club' thingie they've implemented, resulting in perennial underachievers such as Dida receiving chance after chance after chance because after all we're a big happy family and not a football club, apparently.

cant say im surprised but then i think milan fans saw it coming aswell. they didnt improve the team that was 30 poins behind inter last season so it was obvious things werent going to change. the CL covered the fact that inter was a better and stronger team throughtout. it would be sad if they lose out on the the league so early. hope ronaldo comes back since i think he can defo add something to the team. maybe play like they did last half of last season with kaka+seedorf behind ronaldo.

Re: Serie A - The 2007-08 season thread
10 points is a large amount for Milan to recover, even at this stage. I agree that Ronaldo could add something to this team - perhaps a bit of accuracy in front of goal. Inzaghi and Gilardino looked clueless yesterday. I still fancy Roma to have a very good season. Inter thumped them in what was the final game of a very touch few matches - but they could well be back on course - 5 points away and certainly not out of it.
What the f@ck has happened to Lazio in the league this season? I haven't had a chance to watch them play, but the results really don't seem to be coming in.

Re: Serie A - The 2007-08 season thread
Adriano, finally Is this the new begining or just a false dawn... his stupid ignore on Mancio's high five when he was substituted suggests that he still has to mature a lot as a person!!
Fiorentina were easily the pick of the teams last weekend, they keep getting better. Both their strikers found the net (Mutu and Pazzini), and Pazzini's goal was a beauty. Then supersub Vieri made it 3-0. Just perfect.
This season will give teams a lot of opportunities to catch up, coz there are so many strong teams all around... even Genoa and napoli are playing great, Napoli's response at Rome was spectacular. They took EVERYTHING Roma could throw at them, and hit back in equal measure. Very very impressive!! 4-4 at Rome, fucking hell!!!!!

"New beginning" has got to be the most tired and boring cliche when used in reference to Adriano. We've already heard it 2 or 3 times this season.

He did score this weekend.
And yeah, there are a lot of expectations on Adriano to make a big comeback this season... so you will hopefully hear more and more of this as the season goes by... he is getting better, it is always a gradual thing.
