I think it will work out very well

chrissi - as it stands today, this game has come at the best time for you imho, not an easy match with a fully fit squad, so you may as well write it off, hope to get players back for the more winnable ties later in the competition.

i think it will be though because unlike the dortmund game we will try to attack you and werder can be more direct at times. i would have prefered meeting you with best team but i gues we will see in germany.chrissicross wrote:Yeah, I don´t think we have the slightest chance tonight to be honest. However, I´m still looking forward to the game. It´s a great game for Werder Bremen, a pity though we have so many injuries.

Yep, you´re right, I already had the same thought. And even with a fully fit squad we probably would have lost anyway. However, it would have been nice to see how our first eleven would have done against Real Madrid in their great stadium.The-Frank-Tavern wrote:chrissi - as it stands today, this game has come at the best time for you imho, not an easy match with a fully fit squad, so you may as well write it off, hope to get players back for the more winnable ties later in the competition.

Like Schuster said, basically all you need to do is to take care of Diego. He is the only dangerous player left atm, the rest are more or less only good workers.supermadrid wrote:i think it will be though because unlike the dortmund game we will try to attack you and werder can be more direct at times. i would have prefered meeting you with best team but i gues we will see in germany.chrissicross wrote:Yeah, I don´t think we have the slightest chance tonight to be honest. Defensively our fullbacks are probably our biggest weak point...

if your full backs are your weakest point, robben should wreak havoc when he comes in

It is deeply frustrating; will be watching later though and let's hope it's not a humilia tion at least.

no matter how depressed you are with current situation i still think werder will raise their game and give a tough battle. im sure it wont be a humiliation and i hope it doesnt either because it would be fake also i like werder so 2-1 would be fine.

there's a time limit minambres and woodgate and the physios were bored with their convresations so needed some new fodder, metz and robben have recent history and pepe seems like the new kid on the block.Jaime wrote:Surprised we didn't try and convince Minambres to stay.

on a more serious point, i've been v disappointed by both gago and higuain since their arrival especially considering the big fanfare when they arrived, i'd have thought given the full pre-season they'd have been pressing for regular slots not standing in here and there

Well, I think Higuain would have been in contention for a place in the first eleven (and now has pushed Robinho to the bench) were it not for the injury he picked up in pre-season. I thought he played very well in his first half-season with us even if his finish wasn't as good as it should be.
Personally, I'd play Gago. I think he needs continuity. He offers less of a physical presence than Diarra but he has so much more ability. Hopefully he does well tonight and shows Schuster that he can do the job.
