Quite interesting to see that out the 20 biggest spenders 11 are from the premiership. Shaktar Doneskt shouldn't be looked down, they made some important buys.

Interesting but not surprising really. Juve and Inter you might have expected to be a bit higher.

Barca have spent heavily considering how strong the team was already.

Also it's gross spending, not taking account of money recouped on transfers out, which would make quite a difference (e.g. €36m of Athletico's spending was financed by selling Torres to us)

And Faye for about 4m euros.

Valencia is more than that as well. Manuel Fernandes was apparently 18M and Alexis did not come for free (they paid his buy-out clause which is counted differently as it is paid by the employee oficially and not by the club - 6M€).
